I like it here, except for the needles
Here I am in Washington State, after relocating from PA to be with my wife's family.
I'm not adverse to winding roads, tall trees, long steep hills and a lot of green, but I am having an issue with pine needles, and it is not limited to my BMW! Although I do need to know how you all deal with them, getting into places where you cannot get them out. I encounter many problems even when vacuuming. I have to pick each one out of everywhere I find them. Surely there's a Magic Tool for this? Somebody up here in WA please clue me in!

Shop vac won't get them out of the windshield or rear window rubber, or from under the trim.

Lived in WA for seventeen years and have picked them out of every car I owned/washed. My advice don't park under pine trees. It won't stop all of them but most.

Generally speaking, don't ever park under trees anyways. If not the pine needles, the tree sap (here in Texas, we have lots of oaks, which leave NASTY sap stains that eat right through your paint). Plus, you have the risk of it falling on your car!
I've never found the shade worth the risks. Worried about UV damage? Tint your car, treat your interior with protectants regularly (which you probably already do right?), use sunshades, or all of the above! |

Hey. I live in WA as well, one major factor with the pine needles is how people enter the vehicle. Everyone who gets into my car knows to do exactly as I do, and sit down and click their shoes together to get the pine needles off before they spin and bring their fit into the car (hope that makes sense). Then I do all weather floor mats year round or you will constantly have the needles woven into your mats. The last thing I do is sweep my garage out as often as possible. I keep my garage floor needle free. I have reduced number of needles in my car by a ton, just by following those 3 steps. Best of luck!
