Brakes making a squeaking noise.

Hey guys my front right side of the car every time I brake it makes a bit of a squeaking noise, I don't think it's the brakes because my car only has 9, 500 miles.... I scheduled an appointment with BMW to see what it is. But if it ends up being the brakes would BMW cover that under the warranty? Maintenance? Or would I have to pay?

It's the pad sensor. Mine have squeaked since day one. It's a very common issue. Dealer acknowledged the issue and was advised by BMW that there is no fix and that they just squeak. Next time my car is in I am going to make more of a stink as it's getting nice out and I'm really tired of it (after 2.5yrs).

Strange that your 128i does this. I thought it was isolated to the Brembo brakes on the 135. It depends on the dealer (some have had pads/rotors replaced) but if you make a big enough stink, they'll probably put in some kind of effort.

K, hopefully everything gets done correctly. I hope they don't charge me for any of the work.

Why would you get charged? You have a 2011 and you're covered for everything except gas, tires, and evidently topping off your oil until 4yr/50k.

I took my car in for the same issue. They said the sensor was rubbing. They adjusted the sensor and replaced my front pads. No more noise and I paid nothing out of pocket.

Odd, my pad sensor did the same thing. It was LOUD but the brakes weren't low enough to trigger the replacement notice. I went in and my dealer said the exact opposite. They said that BMW acknowledged the problem (though I thought he said it was unique to early 135's) and the "fix" was just a full replacement. Pads, sensors, and rotors. No charge.

I set up the appointment and I got an email back. I was reading in the bottom and it saids this

Squeak / Rattle Concerns Diagnosis - HEARING A SQUEAKING NOISE-NOT CERTAIN IF IT IS THE BRAKES - $65.88 (*Diagnostic fee (non-warranty)*)
Driveability Concern Diagnosis - WHEN STARTING AT A COLD START CAR IS SHAKING FOR FEW SECONDS & THEN IT STOPS - $195.88 (*Diagnostic fee (non-warranty)*)

Non-Warranty?...... Does that mean that warranty won't cover it?

You are covered and they can fix it. my 09 135 has never made a sound. If it did, it would be back there and they would fix it.

Car is going in on Monday. I told them I've had it and I don't want it back without a fix.

That's what they told me the first time but I'm not accepting that any longer. There is no way I'm going to keep driving a $47k car with brakes that sound like a squealing freight train, even at low speeds. It's driving both me and my neighbors crazy. Others have had the issue resolved so I expect them to do the same.

Mine have squeaked since as long as I can remember. Eventually you learn how to brake with minimal squeaking. I've also found if you bed your brakes (hard braking from a high speed) every now and then, the squeaking goes away for a while.
