+1, sadly I found no way around that. However, for those that do, IMO a good option is the black M3 Competition tips, they are about $40 each (Turner sells them), or of course anodize stock ones in black. The M3 ones are about 1" longer than the stock 1///M tips as well

Visst är man Stockholmsbo!
My AW 1M finally arrived and the dealer installed both the N55 midpipes and the Akra slip-on w. wireless valve control.
The swedish Akra reseller gave us a price for the slip-on without tips and said that it was OK to order that way. When we finally did place the order and Akra was contacted they went through the roof! They said that this was the first and last time that any of their exhaust systems where sent out without tips. So I guess that I'm that lucky guy...

But I have still not found any tips that will do the job!

I want the carbon tips. Even if they are a bit expensive… They do look stellar... Can you create some video? Are you coming to any BMW meetings now in spring/summer?

Did you wrap your car? As you say its matte white? I have the AW. Carbon spoiler, mirrors, performance kidneys, IND sidemarkers. Rest is OEM at this stage.

You have the 1M with the most premium exhaust systems out there, but don't want their tips? I'm sorry but I don't get it. That's really the part that I would want to be proud of if having the Akrapovic. Don't think the price for the tips are unrealistic (real carbon + titanium), but maybe you haven't seem them in reality. They are NICE pieces

All carbon will turn yellow with heat. I dont see why it would be covered under warranty.

I think the titanium ones discolor as well although I am not certain on that yet. I have seen them on a car and they arent anywhere near the silver tone the pics on the Akrapovic website show them to be.

I would buy this system without tips if I could. Why pay $13-1400 for tips? I dont see how any set of tips are worth that price. We are essentially talking about a metal pipe a few inches long.

Would love to hear some comments from people with the Akra tips in carbon. Are they really turning yellow? Pictures?

Mine have yellowed over time, been less than 4 months and 3K miles. Here are pre-install and then current:

While a loud exhaust is perhaps nice for the driver, it's a pain in the a... for everyone else and definitely people living along your daily commute and/or neighbourhood. But it's probably me being politicaly correct ! Otherwise, I'd agree with most: the Akra is overly expensive, not to mention the tips ...
