Perth

There's a lot of guys in brisbane.

Local BMW parts prices are a rip off look in the states like unitedbmw or tischer.

The only dealer that I find is competitive over here is mornington BMW.

I'm assuming the 320i performance exhaust will fit cos it is just a muffler back. Sounds good.

wait really? the cat-back from a 135 fits on the N52?

ED: i suppose that makes sense... 2 header pipes (downpipes), same underbody layout..
still.. doesn't make sense that there's heaps of stupidly priced N52 catbacks if the N54's fit the same? :/

The structure is much different underneath.

The 25's cats are practically where the DP cats are on the 35.

However, the 35 has secondary cats and the 25 (im pretty sure) does not.

That leaves just the resonator for the 25.

Regarding diameter, yes they are the same. Basically putting a 35 exhaust in is only adding you another set of cats.

I only say that cause a 125 owner bought my catback so I assume it does.

Why don't you just by the BMW PE made for your car instead of faffing around with 25i and 35i exhausts? N46 pe = 18302165667

Welcome mate!

Does anyone know if the N46 PE meets ADR requirements? I only ask because back when I was looking at getting the PE Brisbane BMW gave me a price but then told me later that they couldn't legally sell it to me...

Might be different for the 20i version but it's probably a question you should ask...

since it's not an (pollution) emissions regulating device, just a sound one.. as long as it's still under.. what 92dba 45 degrees angle 5m back.. it's fine.

If that were the case then the 135i PE would also be fine, wouldn't it?

i think sometimes.. well most of the time, no one knows anything about what's legal and what isn't

for whatever reason they won't sell it

but you won't get defected for it, which is all that matters.

plus, it's cheaper to get O/S anyway.

ED: i mean, it's legal to go a full aftermarket exhaust regardless :/

also curious, what's the stock exhaust ID for our cars? 2.25" or 2.5" ?

that's actually surprisingly small.. i mean, it's about what i expected, but.. really, they're benefit HUGELY from larger exhaust ID's, especially the N54.

Yeah... I know you won't get defected for it. My point was that Brisbane BMW won't sell it to you. And if you're to believe what they told me, they can't even import it.

As you said, it's better to get it from OS anyway. I only brought this up because the OP mentioned Brisbane BMW specifically...
