Dinan Software for 2011 335is, 1M soon

This is good news for those of us looking to tune the engine a bit more of the 1M. As you can see Dinan has already done the work to upgrade the N54hp in the 335is. It shouldn't take long for the 1M to be available.

Of course Dinan won't be the only tuner to offer updates, however they do still offer a same as OEM warranty.

Cool. Essentially removes the 7-second limit for overboost, so perhaps slightly less bang for the buck on "is" engines. But still cool.

Quote:
Being that the N54 engines are all the same, the power output will also be the same for each of the Dinan Performance Software stages if it's an "is" model or not. However Dinan's Performance Software gives the "is" more reliable power and not just in 7 second increments but as long as you keep your foot down.

This is good news. Warranty issues aside, I would still be more likely to go with Procede or the new Cobb flash given more bang for the buck.

It's the exact same specs as the tune for any of the N54 engines, wonder if it's the exact same tune...

I wonder if Shiv will be able to make use of the M button for map switching.

Well.. from what we know they're using the exact same engine so why would the software be different? If the 1M intercooler is larger Dinan might bump stg 2 hp up slightly but I wouldn't hold my breath.

so for a mere $2k, the 1M will have 378hp/415tq with the Dinan warranty. Not too shabby!

Shiv had tuned the 335is with Proceed and the end result is the same as the standard 335i.

OK now that I understand what you were saying, Yes both a Shiv, Dinan ect tuned N54 of any type be it the is, 135i, 335i etc will all end up at the same upper end point. I agree.

I read in your original post that a tuned 335i is the same as a Standard, as in non tuned 335i.

But a 135i, 335i etc doesn't have the M tuned lightweight suspension wider track, bigger brakes etc that the 1M does.

Agree. A tuned 1M will certainly be able to make better use of the power.
