first gear auto trans?

Anyone use first gear on the auto trans? I kinda find it useless. I drive everyday in M+- mode pretending I had a manual

It feels to me like first gear is only good for from 0-10 mph aside if you want to race. After that I'm just making a lot of noise and over revving my engine. In the school zone for example, the speed limit is 15 mph yet I do it in second gear.

Also, the shifts on my car seem to not be as nice from 1-2 then 2-3, especially when down shifting. Going from 2-1 feels super slow and laggy.

One time I was turning and went from 3->2->1 and when shifting from 2->1 the car kinda stopped(lag from downshifting) and so I hit the throttle and I ended up super accelerating away xD.


Anyone use second? I tried using first but am having trouble adjusting.

First is great for sideways tear offs with traction disabled. And rabbit starts. Otherwise, your about right.

Manual 1st is just a fun gear.. you are correct pretty useless in day to day..

In DS mode (without shifting) car ALWAYS starts off in second by design.

I paddle shift all the time.. rarely go to 1st, only if i want to really play...

2-3 shift is so nice...

Never using the 1st, I always, to 100% use the stick in manual mode and hate by accident going down to first.

Use first only 2-3 times just to see how it felt other than that your just making noise like you said.
