Don't wanna say what happened?

Basically they give you an appraisal. You could take that check and do anything you want. Instead of OEM side skirts fenders etc buy the 1m version. It'll cost you some money, but the labor etc was going to be done anyway.

BTW you are looking at getting a check over $5k almost definitely for that. Thats why people are saying 1M conversion. Not sure what is involved, but new front bumper obviously, new side skirts, and I'm sure new fenders to make the front bumper fit. Probably under trays and other plastic junk too. I'd at least figure out the total cost to do the 1M conversion.

On 128 north in the far right lane, guy in a Mazda in the far left hit the rumble strip and panicked, swerved 4 lanes abruptly (I mean, abruptly), and smashed my entire drivers side, guy went all the way back to the left, hit the concrete median and then took off...random motorist followed him to his office and the guy came out 15 minutes after going to work and was in shock I guess (according to state trooper) and motorist told him to turn himself in and he did...

thats definitely gonna be more than 5k to give you an idea someone side swiped my 135 about a month ago screwed up my rear drivers side quarterpanel and door came out to just about 5k seems like you need a few more things so probably 7k?

airbags are $$$ the entire drivers side needs to be replaced...bumpers, door, quarter panels, trim, windows, seat, skirts, wheels (thank god they are insured) not even sure about sub frame stuff, steering column is out of line, axle may be bent...could be more...pain in the asssssss

I love the stock sport seats. Coming from an evo I'd never change the seats on this car. The reason I sold the evo was the recaros were literally crippling for me.

But yeah at least on the positive side, any visual mods you wanted will now be discounted while you are in for labor paint etc.



Thats a real bummer man. I'd call up a good lawyer too. That guy is going to have a hell of a hard time explaining that he didn't realize that he was in 2 impacts. If he seriously tries to explain that he isn't a capable enough driver to realize he crashed 2x, they might hit him HARD with fines/fees etc. Screw that liar. You can't not realize you wiped out the entire side of a car....

I mean I don't want to get tied up in court...just want my baby fixed up. But now I'm interested to see what my options are...

Let us know who does the work and how well they take care of you... one nevers knows when one willl need a good body shop....

I hope you get a decent rental (BMW of course) on the other (stupid) driver.

There is always the issue these days of diminshed value based on the Car Fax "hit".

Maybe a dealer fix to negate some of that negativity.

Best of luck with repairs and I hope it goes as well as it can.
