EFX H8 LED throwing code

I installed mine about 1.5-2 weeks ago and yesterday a light came on the dash. The one that was for exterior lighting. I didn't recognize it at first so I had to look it up. I restarted the car and it went away. Anyone else see this with EFX?

Also check if your lights flicker on start-up, with your lights off.... saw a 1 that had that problem after installing the efx led. The problem went away after they were removed....

after the EFXs were removed? I don't want them removed

check the way you put the black harness... it might hitting the adaptive instrument. you know that goes up and down when you start the car and going left and right when it is activated. i had this problem with both X5 and 135 but i managed to slack them into a right place.

Im pretty sure when they flicker before turning on means they work...All LED lights do that..even my sidemarkers that are LED do that..its normal to flicker

I just installed mine 3 days ago and I got the code 3 times already. 2 times while my car was just idling. All my lights are working fine though. The headlamp warning would flash on for a few seconds and then disappear.

It sucks that you guys are having so many problems. I have had them installed for about a month now and haven't had any problems yet... knocks on wood.

as far as i know EFX are better than RD and much more cheaper

I got my EFX lights yesterday, and I'm sending them back.... it's throwing codes left and right

oh well....back to stock DRL's

you got the silver harness?? the reason is when i got my replacement they are silver harness and they are throwing code on my X5. those on 135i that still the black harness doesnt throw any codes.

I was running fine for a couple of days and it threw a code. So I returned it, if I recall the wires was black.

yes, I got the silver harness/ballast. I'm not fucking with it anymore... will wait till a more mature and better solution is found.

I have the silver ballast boxes as well but have not had any codes thrown yet. They have been in the car for at least a month now.

that's weird. i dont have either errors on 135i. but on X5 i see errors on left but just once in a while. sometimes the whole trip no errors.

I've noticed a trend on the codes. From what I can remember, all codes were throw in daylight. I havn't had any during night time but only when I start the car during the day after it has been outside for awhile. Any guesses on why?

might the unit be affected by the heat and therefore causing some a fault code? I just installed last night and now have the code today... DING* DING* <silence for 10 minutes>......*DING*DING*..... arghh

sigh...i'm tired of this, I've gotten about 10 warnings today within 3.5 hours. I just bought a set of GP Thunders 7500k and will either return the EFX back or sell them to whomever. I'll take off the EFXs when the GP Thunders arrive to replace them. The warnings are driving me nuts.

Hmm.. I was planning to replace my RDs with the EFX but since everyoen is throwing codes I might just stick with mine... I've had the RD's for at least 5 months now and nadda.. and I have the BT scan tool and never had a problem.. damn was really looking forward to getting those EFX so the day time effect of my angel eyes would be better...

Ya that's why I spoke with you at the meet about the RD vs EFX debate. If there's that many issues with the EFX ones.... I might just pick up the RDs instead.......
