My arguments with you were mainly over your decisions on something that really wasnt the fault of AR as it sounds to me, nothing to do with the actual quality of the pipe. I understand the things dont fit correctly on your car and that sucks, but has this happened with ANY of the other people on here that have installed these DPs? Thats what makes me wonder whether or not they were the wrong set. The picture you posted above does show the fitment issue however does NOT show the whole set of DPs for everyone to see whether or not they ARE the 135i DPs or not

You've automatically come to the conclusion that they sent me a set of XI pipes. It's beyond the limits of your fanboi comprehension that the pipes were supposed to be for a 135i/335i and yet just didn't fit. *shrug*
You asked for a review and you got two. One person said they fit, but still caused a CEL. The other said they didn't even fit. |

Hmm.. well way to assume things you dont have a clue about
I accepted ur review, but most of what I got from it was that you were bitching about the fitment and AR's supposed customer service, yet noone can really know for sure how you presented it to them and/or if you are really being about his reactions towards you and the case. I was really looking for reviews on the install and performance aspects, none of which you really gave to the thread. I am no "fanboi" which sounds like some high school randomness, i dont have a single AR item, I simply want to get as much info about the product before choosing and now most of this thread has been taken up by ur back n forthing with me about ur personal problem, true or false, with AR, yet you dont REALLY know for sure whhat the hell happened, u have no visual proof other than that one pic which couldve simply been installation error and no input from AR themselves. Sorry but your review doesnt really give me much to go off of |

"bitching about the install" LMAO. THE PIPE HIT THE ENGINE BLOCK. I'd love to give you a performance evaluation but that's a little difficult considering they were unable to be installed on the car.
Look, it's painfully obvious that you're a forum armchair expert. First your ASSertion that the 135i and 335i pipes are vastly different. Second, the fact that you think this install is anything more than elementary. Once the pipe is mated to the turbo, there is only one thing that can be done to adjust fitment, and that's clock the pipe. In this case, no clearance could be afforded at the engine block by clocking the pipe. But I feel my reason falls on deaf (and dumb) ears, as I'd be highly surprised if you've ever turned a wrench in your life. |

I bought the catted AR pipes ...and returned them. My issue? One of the pipes had a good deal of welding "material" burned directly onto the cat! It was simply a poor weld job (that didn't protect the cat) and horrible quality control. I was surprised they let it out the door. Really surprised. It was so obvious. While it was only visible on one of the cats, it made me really start thinking about what the other side of each cat looked like. (The portion that isn't visible could have been even worse.) I was offered a prompt replacement, but passed. I didn't have a good feeling on AR at all after this.

I got a full refund with no issues. But, as I did not want a replacement I did have to pay for shipping. (I didn't think I should of had to pay for shipping at all.)
Here's the one shot I took with my iPhone... |

Thats of the inside of the cat?
Most companies do insist you pay for shipping on refund returns FYI |

I gave them a shot and they let me down big time. As I said, I was curious as to how bad the cats/bits that are not visible might have been. Mistakes do happen, but this showed that they just didn't care. To send them out like this is crazy. I had/have no interest in them as a company after this.
For the time being I'm staying with my stock DP. After my warranty expires I'll do something for sure. I'm happy with my setup right now. Thanks. |
