When your car didn't limp it was pretty impressive Vin. You & Michael were visibly pulling away from me on the straights. With regard to the limping/redline theory, I don't think I hit the cut-out all day so maybe there's something in it?
The sprint circuit is more forgiving than the clubman but limp mode seemed inevitable. I know my driving style doesn't help but I really thought the N54 could withstand at least the first 4 laps of the day, which it didn't. I will check my codes later today and report back but I'm getting a really bad hesitation when WOT on straight road. It started happening ever since I got my full exhaust.

Also, I did a few WOT pulls yesterday. No Limp but I'm only hitting around 10psi Map 5 auto-tune.
My understanding with map 5 is that if there is an event, say a knock or misfire the jb will pull the boost, which could be why your probably only seeing 10psi????

I think there is a way to reset map5, something like a 2 in future use a????

Shoot terry an email he'll respond pretty quick!

That's too bad Vinney. Your car is frustrating me I can only imagine how you feel. I just want a date with your car, a hoist, tools and about 4-5 hours and nobody around to distract me. Pavo won't shut up when we work on his car.

Cheers Paul, i'll look into it. Think I need to do some logs to see what's going on. Car was driven fairly conservatively then I went WOT and only hit 10psi, it did spike up fairly high though.

Cars been idling very weird on cold starts.

Car runs unpredictably. Sometimes hard, other times only stock boost and sometimes half check engine light when barely touching throttle.

Check codes tonight.

Time to clean that excess carbon of those pistons. Valve cleaning time Vinney.

I agree Edwin, it's probably the next thing on my list. Just want to sort out my meth setup so I can start spraying meth from day 1 of the valves being cleaned.

That's a great idea Anthony I'm starting to lose my patience with all these issues. Can't wait to run the car at the track once it's all sorted though!

Hi Tim, no didn't get to Lakeside either. I was very depressed about the whole thing. The good news is that the car was picked up today from being tuned and it made 405RWHP. Its now ready to take to the track for a shake down test. We already know that the flywheel and clutch aren't up to the job based on what it did on the dyno so I have som new bits already on the way from VAC. Also the standard airbox is restricting the engine big time. The intake is far too small and isn't getting enough cold air. Will be able to get some more HP out of it when this gets sorted. Just need to find a day at QR in the next few weeks that I can take it to.

I've given the LIMP mode a lot more thought.

One of the common modifications amongst all the guys experiencing limp at the track is an aftermarket intake such as BMS DCI or Stett intake. I'm willing to bet that at a track like QR in the conditions we have up here in QLD, the engine is being starved of air and the only air it is sucking is hot air from the engine.

I don't think this is the only culprit for the LIMP, but I think we should be able to run for longer without running into any issues. I need to find time to build my Mr5 intake and see how it goes at the next track day

Went for a short drive and did a few pulls. Got the check engine light on the dash briefly then it reappeared and disappeared again. Map 5 but boost was pulled back to stock. Turn car off and on again and all is good. Time to get out the BT tool

Some of those codes are related to the dp fix setting being too aggressive so I pulled it out altogether. Reset lambda codes. I'll give it a boot tonight and see how it runs.

Have a feeling injectors are a possibility as plugs and coils have been changed recently. I'm on stock injectors as well.

I thought you had the jb4? Why do you have a dp fix?

Took the car for a burn and did a few pulls. So far things looking good. Hitting boost and pulling really hard.

Paul the dp fix is hooked up to the dme to hide the o2 sensor codes. Not a fan of auto-clear on the jb4 and the dp fix takes care of the codes.

I realised today why Michael didn't have any codes limp mode at the track. I think he has auto-clear on which hides the o2 sensor codes but also hides other codes that we want to see (ie. misfires etc). Unfortunately it's all on or all off.

After I put my full exhaust on I started throwing lambda codes which were related to the dp fix setting being to aggressive. I tried adjusting it but decided to remove it. Worked perfectly when I had dp's + axel back though.
