if it hits 5.00 a gallon the US should seriously think about invading an oil producing country this summer. oh wait, we did that

if gas hits 5 bucks a gallon I'll keep driving the same as I do now

5 bucks a gallon is still cheap

I drive a ton and that's only an extra 3 grand a year for me (back of envelope calcs 25000 miles a year 26 mpg)

Haha, good one!

I'm more concerned about my business because the gas prices will increase prices of many goods and supplies in USA. I still could afford to pay for gas no matter what but it's going to be a problem for many others. I remember it hitting about 4.00 a gallon at Buffalo this past fall and people were freaking out..

Ethanol is coming.
But what about BMWs hydrogen powered engines? Are those ever going to be produced?

Yes, new 7 series is supposed to have a hydrogen powered engine in 3 years or so (what I have read here)

hydrogen sucks compared to gas as a fuel, you can't make as much power running on hydrogen as you can on gas and your range is smaller
