Shout out!!
So I thought I'd do a shout out thread to PeteA
Saw his thread selling a Stoptech BBK kit, the price was great but sadly the calipers were yellow...I know hideous....who buys yellow calipers! Anyway kept looking at the tread sitting there each week and then noticed he dropped the price to even more and at that stage it was too good an opportunity to pass up. I contacted him and told him I'll take them. We got talking he already had a quote from a local paint shop about getting them re-coated. With that heads up I factored in a bit extra to get them re-coated. Now I'm in Adelaide and my choices of places to get good work done are limited so I thought I'd ask Pete to organise the painting for me if he didn't mind, was worth a shot. Sure, no worries, he dropped them off and got them painted gloss black as I requested. Then we discussed the idea of getting decals added and finally decided on the M logo like the new m235, m4 brakes. No worries, he took them down to a sticker place he had used before and had the M logos added. I asked how much he wanted to add the decals and he wouldn't take my money Finally when it came to ship and he managed to halve the shipping cost he originally priced that we agreed on The moral of this story is PeteA is the type of seller you want to buy from. He didn't have to anything extra I asked of him but instead he treated it as his own little project. Not to mention all the time he spent running around to different shops getting them done. I will post some before/after pics up when I'm not on iPad as they are pure boner material |

Let's make this the official shout out thread!
I also have a shout out of a particularly good customer service from a shop many of us here know, Tyre Power North Melbourne. So last Friday I picked up my son from school. However somewhere on the way home, we picked up something else - a big screw on the rear left! It was making a very loud noise so I stopped to check it out. My son saw that it was a big screw stuck in the tyre at an angle, which explained the extremely loud noise. We were in the city at this stage, and drove to the closest tyre shop which was in Carlton. It was 4:30 at this point. The tyre shop still had a workman working on a customer's car, but the manager said that they will not accept another job. I pleaded with him and explained to him that the car doesn't come with spares or inflation kit so if it leaks overnight I will have to tow this car to a tyre shop tomorrow. I also told him that I'll pay extra to cover for the overtime if needed. He would not budge and basically said sorry, not interested. I was pretty disappointed with his attitude but thought I better get out of there quickly as there is another tyre shop around the corner. Unfortunately I got the same response and neither of these places even bothered looking at the tyre even though they were standing next to the car. I was pretty annoyed at this point but remembered that Tyre Power North Melb is 5-10 mins away and I should give it a shot. When I got there it was exactly 5pm. There was a guy there but I don't know his name. I've only dealt with Chris previously and he wasn't there. The guy told me that everyone had left. I explained to him my situation and he proceeded to look at my tyre without me saying anymore. He studied the screw and then went to get some additional lighting and a soap spray. He came back and played with the screw a little, sprayed the soap spray and decided that there was no leak. He gently rolled the screwed around a bit and it came right off, and he tested it further and worked out that the screw had not penetrated far enough to cause permanent issue. With a smile he explained it all to me with the screw in his hand. You can imagine my relieve. I thanked him and he smiled and said have a nice weekend. What a difference between the Tyre Power guy's response and the stony face a-r-s-e-h-o-l-e-s with the can't be bothered attitude. Yes I understand it was 4:30-4:45 on a Friday, but seriously I would never walk into those places again. Again, thank you Tyre Power North Melbourne! |

its always nice to hear positives.. usually only negative things get posted.
on that note I will add that I recently purchased a couple items from Burger Tuning... they came in the mail quickly and when I sent an email asking a question I got a response back with the information within the hour! |

Look amazing congrats. How durable will that sticker be though with the heat the calipers reach?
Ps another props to Tyrepower North Melbourne for attentive service.

stickers are heat resistant for calipers so we will see how they go!
I posted this for "feel good story" for those exact reasons...I've had my fair share of bad luck with this car, often I feel it is cursed lol....its so good to finally get a WIN I had to share it with everybody.... |

Thanks for the props buddy I think they turned out mint. Make sure you put them to good use. If you get bored of those stickers let me know I am very close to the place that did them for me.
Yellow on calipers is a personal thing. I like it sometimes, other times not so much. I am more of a silver fan myself. Can't wait to see them mounted to your beast. |

If those stickers hold up I might consider for the 1M - allthough the caliper design is less friendly.

I'd like to shout out to SouthernBM and the guys who worked on my car over the past week. I set them quite a difficult task installing various components which were easy for a LHD BMW but a pain in the ass for a RHD. Andrew kept be informed of progress and there were no surprises along the way.
I just drove her home tonight and everything is flawless. Car handles crisply, brakes like a beast and now comes with disco lights door sills!!! |
