brake indication

So did my tire change yesterday, so managed to do some visual checks.

So for the past 3000km (guessing) my idrive keeps saying front pads are due in 1400km for front brake pads the date is 2019.

The front pads have at least 70-80%, rotors are fine
The rears are down to maybe 40%, rotors are fine

What gives

Also why do the rears wear faster than the fronts, my tech seemed to think the fronts have more material on them from new

oh there is no binding on front or rear

At least with my F30 brakes up front, the fronts have a little more material than the stock rears.

As to why the rears wear faster, our cars have an E-Diff, which basically just brakes the inside wheel in a turn to keep traction and prevent you from one-wheel peeling and destroying tires. I went through an entire set of rear pads in one weekend at the track (I did leave DSC on, though)
