Depends on how much modded it is, cuz the M2 has great suspension/ handling right out of the box. I don't care for power; PPK'd N55 has got plenty of it. But, the M2 pulls all the way to redline making it more fun winding it out.

While i agree with you on that point. You can tune the 135i power delivery and handling to emulate the M2. The exception being the added stability of the longer wheel base and wider track. I found myself lifting in the M2 when i didn't need to because doing the same stuff in my 135i would have caused me to run off the track

Porsche?

Take a look at this: https://www.cars.com/for-sale/search...rce=QUICK_FORM There are over 5,000 911s for sale. For a foreign German sports cars, there are plenty of used Porsches to go around. People who own these cars are a hardcore pack of fanatics who have built a mystic about the imagined greatness of this vehicle. Visiting a Porsche dealership is an experience in itself. Generally the sales people are a snooty bunch and make a potential customer feel he is lucky to be noticed or even talked to. And beware, don't touch the car without permission. I've had many friends own this car, and I've observed the key quality these cars have is "expensive", expensive to buy, insure, and service. I've driven many of them, and I've never been able to justify the performance given the price. But forget about my prejudices. If you want one and have some patience, you can find a great deal saving tens of thousand of dollars on one. The 911 is now a flat six with two turbos, and of course, people want the latest and greatest. You can buy the previous NA generation for small money. A NA 911 a couple of years old with some very nice option out the door cost over $100,000. That car today with 10->15K miles can be had for less than $70,000. If you try, it can be had for less. Anyway, what's nice about BMWs is you get a lot of car for the money. The M2 is a bargain for what you get, and if you wait a couple of years, it'll be as common as Hillary ads and will have at least 400 HP! |

Is there really a choice between the GT350 and the M2. With a little analysis, the answer is no. The M2 wins hands down.
First the M2 is cheaper than the 350 by several hundred dollars. The M2 only has two options, the DCT for $2,900 and the Executive Pkg for $1,400, which most of you won't want. Those who cry you'll have to pay more than list, just wait a bit and you get it for list. I even think I can wrangle an even lover price or some goodie thrown in. Now we come to performance. The M2 equals the 350 in 0->60 and the quarter mile. The M2 does slightly better on a 300 foot skidpad than the 350. The one place the 350 excels is 70->0 braking. BMW will fix this little problem. The Ford has a 5.2 Liter V8 vs the M2's puny 3.0 Liter turbocharged straight 6. The BMW makes 365 HP while the Ford 526 HP. What interesting is the the 161 HP advantage of the Ford which doesn't translate into any performance advantage over the Bimmer. HP figures so prominently in the minds of most buyers, and to pay attention to it is mostly rubbish. In the case of both cars, they offer more performance than all drivers can handle except the professionals who spend a lot of time on the track. One final note. Some of you might think Jeremy Clarkson is an English twit, but of all the so-called automotive journalists, he is the only one who'll give you an impartial and honest evaluation of a ride. Carry on kimosabes! |

Grab for the Brass Ring, Get an M2!
The following is Jeremy's 10 best cars. A very succinct review, but I'll bet you'll get the point. The one review to pay attention to is the M2! This car is so good I doubt any of you are worthy enough for ownership!

GT350 and M2 are both great cars in my book... The new msutangs are definitely lookers especially with in the 350 form, and that noise is to die for.
M2 also looks great with the flared bodywork and I'm sure it's no coincidence that everyone has been giving it awesome reviews in regards to is driving pedigree. I want both. |
