Help: Power outlet (cig lighter) stopped working

Plugged in my radar detector and got no power. Also noticed the light is not working. Found the fuse and it looks ok. And the outlet under the arm rest works.
Any ideas?

Replace it anyway. Might surprise you. I have had fuses that look good, but did not work.

OK, replaced the fuse. Still no power. Anybody know if you can access the unit without completely disassembling the dash?

From this thread I believe you need to take the center console apart:

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1267712

I was too big of a weenie to do that myself and paid my dealer to install the "smoker's package," however the OP on that thread installed it himself and said it was easy. If the problem is with the cigarette lighter socket itself, it would presumably be a loose wire. Why it would become loose is a good question, however if you put something in there repeatedly that fit tightly it perhaps could have damaged something in the lighter socket. If that were the case then either you would need to solder it to fix it, or buy a whole new "smoker's package," which I bought from ECS Tuning for around $125 delivered.

Alternatively the problem is further towards the fuse box or in some sort of circuitry I am unaware of.
