It's interesting and cool but seems like a really bad platform to boost, based off what I've read. Just seems like a blown motor waiting to happen, and with 335i' s so plentiful why take the gamble on the N52 block>? but
Yeah its unique and more power to him(pun intended), it's the rationale that seems flawed but that's just my humble opinion.

He's making over 400 and that's what's been claimed, and for the last couple of years and still holding strong.

There was also a company offering supercharger kits for the N52. Given enough time and money anythings possible.

Garage List
2008 BMW 128i  [10.00]
I always though what hould happen if one takes N54/N55 exhaust manifolds, turbos and into the 328i Intake manifold. Just gotta keep boost low.

out of curiosity... what is/are the main differences between the n51/52 block v the n54/55 block that so many question the reliability of the n51/52 if it were to have a turbo/blower added to it?

personally, if i had the $$$ and given the choice between turbo or blower, i would go with the blower due to ease of installation and fewer parts to install.

Higher compression pistons and lower strength rod bearing/ and or rods, along with fueling issues all come to mind, but that's pure conjecture on my end... Someone more knowledgeable could probably provide factual data..

I don't even mean to be that guy, but at this point you're REALLY better off just getting the x35i...

I'm still in the boat that would take a SC'ed n52 over a n54/n55 assuming the kit is reliable and long term use proves it to be reliable without too much additional strain on the engine.
