So who's telling BMWNA? They have no control over European sales. He's ordering from BMWGMBH...The GB could be organized from the 1er's Euro club (several in his local area) as well.

They werent too keen on me ordering a second set when I tried yesterday. Even if I could get them, the price wouldnt be 300 dollars. It would be over 400. The lights alone are 370 depending on the exchange rate, not to mention shipping and all that.

Just a possibility--
Ask in Wittlich. You can make one large purchase (bundles of 10 or more)with the VAT as well (under 2500 euro) and ship them as bundles through Spang or one large shipment to me and I'll distribute them out (use the moving company Gillen and Garcon to package and ship)...but I will handle only US folks. The dealers will work a better price with you if you just ask, especially because you're buying so many...even exclude the VAT form. I know because I've done it for several prts. We could just guestimate the price at 425 shipped and see if there's still interest. That price should include purchase, your shipping to me, and my shipping to the customer. Guess I sound pushy...if you don't feel cool about it, it's completely understandable. |

Unfortunately, that is way more of a pain in the ass than I am willing to deal with, not to mention the obligation and dealing with problems IF something were to get lost in the mail, damaged or any of that. If I used my VAT form (which I wouldn’t because it would be illegal in this case), I would only be able to order 7 at a time and ship them out from a Germany company, which would cost a grip. I cant use my APO shipping because once again, that’s illegal. I already got in some shit with customs last month because the dates on my VAT form didn’t match and just got my privileges back last week. Not to mention I live an hour from Wittlich.

I think it is too much of an ask to have an EU member personally choreograph a group buy. For a few people? Sure. But not 40+
Sorry, that's how I see it. Too much falls on the member if something goes wrong. There are plenty of options so hold tight for Satalite's update, he's got all bases covered for you guys. |

For those of you US guys who want the blacklines RIGHT NOW... why not just buy them online from Schmeidmann.de ? 301 Euros plus shipping. Or look on ebay.de

I did just that last week as soon as I saw that link posted. This group big was only saving 40-50 bucks and I was on the second 40 people to order which seemed like it was going to take a long time. I ordered from the link above and within 5 days I got a tracking number from them via FedEx and they should be at my house on the 27th. Paid 406 shipped I think. Not bad and I'll have them soon with no issues.*

Do you need addition cable set when replace this with existing? As the dealer told me that I cannot retrofit the black line taillight without that cable set. Please advise if they were correct...

Depends on whether you have Xenons. If you have them then the part number you want is 63212225282 and you do not need a harness of any kind. If you need the non xenon ones, then I have no idea.

Hello Oreo, My car was manufactured 09/09, with Xenons. Instead of what the dealer told, I also serach the website RealOEM, and states harness is required for this retrofit..

My build date is 11/08. No one I have talked to has needed a harness of any kind. That was with my part number, not the one you have. The dealership told me I needed a harness too but it worked fine without it.

I don't know why BMW releases the harness. I believe it to be a retrofit for current 2012 halogen users that might have a different harness.
Other than that.. since your car is an 09/09 with Xenons just buy the lights! They are PnP.
