Question: Adaptive xenon lights
Hi guys,
Last night while standing in my garage facing a wall, I turned the steering wheel all the way to the right having both of the xenon lights shift to the right accordingly, and it was quite visible on the wall. However, when turning the steering wheel to the left, the xenon lights didn't move as much or the movement was minimal? It looked like as if the left light stayed stationary while right light would shift to the left a bit. Is this normal? It's hard to tell while driving. Thanks for your help. Sardius.

Its normal. You have to be moving at slow speeds for BOTH lights to move left and right. When moving BOTH lights will move the same amount (degrees) left or right. Sitting still they will act/move just as you described. You can run a search here and find many threads on this topic.
Also... the AHL lights only work(move left or right) when in the headlight switch is in the "auto on" position. When you manually turn the headlights on... the headlights stay locked or static straight ahead position. Dack

Im fairly certain thats the case for US spec/left hand drive cars, the adaptive lights have bias towards the right side of the road since it is "farther" away from the driver. Ill check on my car this evening, but as far as i know its std operating procedure.

I already knew all this, but I have always been curious at what speed the lights stop tracking left and right. Anybody know?
