My DDV Project
I am doing a bit of DIY on making my own Charge pipe set up using:
Stock Charge Pipe – improving flow characteristics Samco 45 degree 63mm 4ply pipe – eliminating weakness in original design Forge DDV's - eliminating weakness in original design and improving throttle responce I am replacing the large O ring on the throttle body with a new one to make sure I don't get any leaks and have tightened up the spring clip too. The standard rubber pipe is very soft, reduces greatly in size and is far from smooth, with all those deep ridges in it, so I should see far better air flow / volume. It looks the bees knees. I hope to fit it this weekend. I could only get the Samco hose in Blue, so that's the only bit that shows up. The Forge DDV's and pipes are in Black so very Stealth I have removed quite a few bits of plastic "swarf" from inside the Std Charge pipe to "smooth" the airflow. One bit was protuding about 5mm deep and about 25mm long imagine the disturbance that would have on air flow ! I will be replacing my Riss Racing one with this so it will look closer to "stock" and I can put the Steering pump reservoir bracket back in and put it there again. Should be a good set up with my Forge FMIC already in place I have some pictures on my phone, but can't upload them from work.

Hoping to get a new "O" ring for the TMAP sensor today as BMW don't sell them without the sensor. Last time, when I fitted the Ross Racing DDV kit I noticed it was slightly damaged, but still functional, but worried it may break this time.
I have had to work from the E/D and work out the diameter of the rubber ring it's self to deduct from the E/D to establish what the I/D is as I can only orqer using an ID and a C/S figure. It's been fun, that's for sure, so if I get it right, I will post on here what size the TMAP "O" ring is for others that may need to source one. As soon as I have it fitted I will post some pictures up.
