So, sorry for that.

Let me see if I can get us back to the original topic.

$80k+ seems pretty optimistic but the car does have some nice, tasteful mods.

I'll watch this sucker and see what happens.
No worries. Just want to keep on topic. The price to me seemed a little un-realistic. I know VS is great but their prices even with the car are in space cadet range. Just my opinion but good luck to them.

As for the off topic spree, if someone thinks I (us) over spent on 1M that is their right. I bought the car for me and not for the admiration's of the people on the forums. I did not by it for value I bought it for what it was and could do. If someone with a 128 or 135 can make it kill a stock 1M then great. End of the day what did you prove besides nothing??

First off I think 60k is too much. Lets use it as a conversation point though. So lets say you get a new 135 for 44k with some fun options. ttl gets you to 46ish. I think you near that 60k point very quickly trying to make it a 1M killer. Probably spending most of that money on suspension/chassis/brakes not to mention the body work and slight power bump (which many people are finding is fairly substantial).

But at less than 60k (which most of us were able to achieve) I think it becomes a good deal.

Yes, you could make a 1M killer for a fraction (used 135 with N54, 3k in engine mods to get 400whp, D/A coils, 18s with chubby tires, LSD, M3 bits etc.) and it would light up a 1M. Probably don't even need the body work all that bad, people have fit 255/275s on the stock 135 fenders with a little work (not ideal, but doable). But I knew I would be happier with the 1M at the end of the day. At the end of the day you are driving a modded 135 that is really badass, but it's not a 1M.

Not trying to bash anyone or anything, just my point of view because I debated it as well when I thought the 1M just wouldn't happen for me.
My intentions wasn't to bash anyone either.

I agree with your post. Options out there for everyone.

Ha, I have a 328. Thats funny. Now who is the troll.

Nothing in my original post was anything worthy of troll.

Also, you are either not reading/comprehending the OP's intent in posting this. He's not LOOKING for a 1M. He already OWNS one.

Cheers.
Once again the point isn't to make a fake 1M, or in your analogy a fake Cobra. Simply stating it is possible to get similar or better performance with the same chassis and powerplant, for less money, if one doesn't want or have the means to pay the 1M premium. To fit big rubber on it you will need a widebody of some sort, whether it is custom or the 1M widebody.

That is more realistic.

I'll concede that your intent may not have been to troll.

However, you have to understand that most 1M owners on this forum have had to put up with various E90/92 and even E82 owners inserting themselves into basically every thread since the 1M was announced about "how it's ugly, how it's not worth a premium over a 135, how it's not a real M car etc. etc."

I'm not sure how my educated guess about you owning a 328 makes me a troll. Your sig says E90. Since you didn't bring up the M3, I had a 50% chance of getting it right.

I guess we'll agree to disagree about your point regarding 'real' and 'fake' 1Ms. I don't understand why you're so hung-up on 'out performing' the 1M. The 1M is a great car, but there are many cars out there that can out perform is in various ways. You can spend $5k on a crotch-rocket and out-perform it in a straight line as well.

That's not the point.

Just dont even bother trying to explain yourself and move on from this place. Youll be happier in the long run.

80K for a car stickered at no more than 75% that new
that type of percentage is ridiculous to pay on anything this side of a vintage Ferrari.
You know what else I can get at that price? A 2 year old V8 Vantage.

Vorsteiner is free to ask whatever they consider as an appropriate price. You are not obliged to spend a penny. So keep cool, guys. We all have great cars.

supply and demand sets the price. can count on one hand how many are forsale at any given time. now that the 1M is no longer for sale, it's a gotta have item thus driving up the price above sticker an a 1 year old used version. Market is saying $60's all day long right now.

wow, this thread just dropped 10-20 years. i feel like i'm back in high school!

everyone should just chill. anyone's allowed to be on a forum...it's not like a sweepstakes or something; there doesn't need to be proof of purchase. if you don't think it's a fair price, take my example:

"that's just ridiculous to pay for a car that has a base price of 47k, but GLWTS. i'm sure they have to make up some of their cost."

there...that wasn't so hard. now time for me to troll some other threads in this forum

just don't be hypocritical.

You two are so vindictive its honestly hilarious.
Forgive for posting on something that shows up in my "New Posts" tab.

Both of you just need to calm down and realize that this is just a place to share ideas - and that it doesnt matter what car you own, everybody has a right to their opinion being shared.

And that neither I nor BlackJet came into this with intentions of starting anything. But from personal experience, its comments like yours that end up starting things.

Lets keep this on topic people, save personal bickering for honestly anywhere else.

You guys should be starting a separate thread on discussing the fastest of the three 1M colors.

These threads will ALWAYS go down this path, often times with the same players. I just love how people insist that the 1M prices are "BS", "over inflated", "ridiculous", etc.... I guess some just can't get it through their head, the concept of supply and demand. It's so simple yet it escapes them. Yet they love to give advice to stay away from these threads and this section... hilariously ironic.

Here's my last piece here.

Your MO is predictably petty.

1. Start off by inserting your off color, denigrating put-down into every single thread related to the 1M.

2. Add a few more incendiary comments to the next line, making sure you start allying yourself with anyone else who is in your camp and coming here for a nice evening troll.

3. Start back-pedaling and move rapidly over to the hypocritical 'high-road' and call everyone else 'vindictive', 'immature' or something similar.

You're not fooling anyone and you're a sad little attention-%#%@.
