I definitely can't argue with those prices. Maybe a CPO car is the way to go.

There are a lot. The one i'm looking at I think I can negotiate down to 50K or so. Its fully loaded but there are a few red flags like 3 owners withing 4000 miles. I'm thinking it was repoed or it was a dealership test car.

I have no doubt that the V8's would impress but I still need some refinement in the cabin such as bluetooth/ipod/nav etc. The Z4 M I saw had the ivory leather option and the ENTIRE interior including the A pillar and door panels were decked out in leather which was really nice.
remember that currently there is a Camaro transmission issue and GM is not shipping any manuals til that issue is sorted out, so you may have a wait if you take that route

Or throw in some goodies like.
if you're thinking a vert then what about a topless Cayman, the Boxster is cheaper than a Cayman and is otherwise essentially the same car

I've located numerous 08 M3 convertibles for the low 50's. One that is speced out the way I want has some red flags however. In 4300 miles the car has had 3 owners. Maybe it was repoed or something?

can i ask where they got the amount they decided to pay you for your car when they bought it back??
just curious, the engine blew up in my 135i and they are still in the process of repairing it. only 9k on the clock.
they also had a x6 in the shop. same engine. SA told me they had already bought it back. it had already had a turbos and other work done to it.

Honda S2000 if you want a vert? Interior is nice for a jap car, and they ONLY come in M/T you can find some for about 35k or less....just a suggestion, but it looks like your gunning for an M3.

Base Lotus Elise is under $50K. Now that would be a fun convertible. Not too practical though if that's a concern.

good for the track but severely lacking in the horsepower dept.
thats a good 100 HP down on a stock 135. but makes some back in its lack of heft.

Honda is nice but I want something torquey. The Lotus is just way to bare. My cousin had one and I don't think I could live with that car day in and day out. I am also looking at an S5 at this point but think its a bit overpriced, overweight, underpowered but one of the most beautiful cars on the road. I need to go test drive one.

I'd say throw in preowned cayman s, GTR or new isf and c63 which can be had for 44k and 53k respectively if you can find a dealer willing to deal.

I look at the S5 more of a touring coupe. I don't think you will see BMW-like depreciation with the S5. I'd expect those to suffer a more accelerated rate.

Decide what qualities matter most to you and that will guide you to your next car. Do you value speed? i6? v8? Turbo? Reliability? Size? Handling? Build quality? Gadgets? MPG? Forget the make and model for a moment and rate what qualities you value most and what car on your list fulfills that best.

I've made some impulse car purchases that I sold very quickly and lost lots of $$ on! I've found that choosing a car with my head leaves me happier, longer.

Without a doubt. I myself had made some impulsive purchases I was not entirely happy with. Right now speed is a must in manual form. I prefer a 4 seater but a 2 seater could work. Convertible is a huge advantage but I could settle for a coupe. I love gadgets. It needs to have ipod compatibility, bluetooth, nav. Right now I am leaning towards the 08 Z4 M Roadster or an 08 M3 convertible I found with 4300 miles. The only thing about the M3 is the 3 previous owners which raises some red flags to me. The Z4 M Roadster would be awesome but they still want 54K for it. I thought they would give me a bigger break considering the car has been on the lot for over a year and the new Z4's are already rolling in.

I went to go drive the S5 again this morning and I must say its quite boring to drive. Its an absolutely gorgeous car but just doesn't drive like a BMW.
