Best 128i configuration

Okay so I am going to place an order for a 128i tomorrow. I have already checked and the dealership said that there is still time. I have narrowed it down, however, I really would like some input to make sure that I am making the right decision. So, I figured I should ask those with the experience.

My first configuration looks like this:

128i MT
M-Sport Package
Black Sapphire Mettalic
Coral Red Leather
Xenons
Ipod/USB

Invoice: 33,110

My second configuration looks like this:

128i MT
M-Sport Package
Alpine White
Black Leatherette
Navigation/iDrive
Xenons
Ipod/USB

Invoice: 33,200

I am leaning about 70-30 toward the Black/Red combo as it is my favorite color combo of all time. However, I really like the new iDrive system. I think that in the end, the car is more important than the technology. Right?

If you like both iDrive and the black & red combo, why not get both?

Believe me I would love to get idrive and red/black however this would not only put the car at 135i prices, it would be at the upper range of my price limit. I am still a college kid and while my schooling is paid for, I would still like to have some money left over.

^ In that case I may also suggest that if you can live without both of those options, skip them both and pocket the cash.

I knew someone would bring this up. My parents are paying for half of the car. (Please don't flame me) I know buying a car such as this isn't the wisest thing to do. I have scholarships, etc. for school and other living expenses. I haven't spent a penny in over a year saving for a new car, and well I could probably write a book about how I rationalized my decision but the fact of the matter is I have made it.

I totally understand how easy it can be when your getting help with the payment of the car...

in all honesty though, look at the fact that you might keep this car for a while and which features out of the two are you more inclined to appreciate over time?

idrive (nav -going to college-expaning out, cool features)

or coral leather (severe upkeep after the first three years)

its the little things to think about I guess...

IMHO ...get a base 128 with the color you want/ipod and pocket the cash...if this is your first car...learn to love it * and throw the money in a MMA at 3% over 5 years...lol

thats just me though....

Option 1, swap in sport for M sport and save the 1150. M sport doesn't add anything of real substance: diffuser nice, wheels not, Cd penalty for 135 front end look, M badges are a bit too far reaching on the 128. Other than that- nice. You could also go:
135i
Crimson/Jet
Black ette
Sport
Ipod
for 2k more than where you are for probably better value and resale. I have the 128 (and love it) but if I priced mine that close to 135...

In my mind, iDrive is just one more thing to break, even though it is neat and the latest version is clearly superior to the previous versions. Buy a $100-$200 Garmin if you want a Nav. If it breaks, throw it away and buy another one. I vote you go with the leather/paint.

Personally, I did without iDrive and leather....take that for what it's worth.

imo get sport package on a jet jetblack with coralred, xenons, bluetooth. with the value package. u get sport seats, bluetooth which comes in handy and xenon lights which everyone loves. The only other thing that you might want to add is power seats. besides that buy a garmin jkp said and save the money. especially if ur commute is basically straight forward. imo the 1 series nav looks ugly.

These are my must have 128i options...

6MT, way better than the AT (not true for the 135i though)
Performance suspension ( I have this instead of the sport/m-sport pack)
or... Sport package
Heated seats +
Heated steering wheel (It is free w/ the winter pack)
10 spk HiFi (not premium) Build date before 2009 or after Sep 2010 (the 10 spk audio system is better than the 6 speaker)
Sunroof (Also free with a pre 2009 build date)
Xenon's (I don't have these, but the loaners always did and they are great)

My motavation has alway been performance over luxury, but the heated seats are a must in the cold.

Also Value pack mean leather and IPOD adapter are free
