My new shoes...the new VMR V718s
Got a set of Gunmetal VMR V718s in the new 1er fitment:
Thanks to Cal at SonicMS for helping me with the order and answering all my questions. Thanks to Kevin at VMR for ensuring me that these fit. Man, the fronts look like they are all over the strut, but sure enough with some tape tests, they dont touch. Discount Tire refused to install initially because they swore they were hitting and that a 8" wheel in the front is max for a 1er. I had the hankooks on my last wheels and I went Yoko S drives this time as they were a little cheaper. So far I like them better hands down. The hankooks are very hard by comparison. My fear though is that my hankooks only lasted me 10k miles, what are these softer ones going to do 18x8.5 et45 front...225/40 18x9.5 et50 rear...255/35 |

I really like the V718's. Nice choice, they look great! I have had nothing but bad experiences with Discount Tire claiming that wheels "won't fit". Other shops always seem to magically make them fit.

Nice, but once you're done with the cheap tires, try some PSSs - you'll be more than happy and they'll last longer.

If they last a lot longer maybe, if not, these do plenty fine putting the power down. Im never at a track, so tires for handling purposes is kind of lost on me

PSS's are the 30k tire if you don't track....

Any chance of getting a couple more snaps? looking to see a good side shot, or front to back shot ... looks good though!

I did but look above to see what happened to my 18s. Can't imagine if they had been 19s. I also think 19s look good in some instances but kind of cartoony in other. I think 18s really are the perfect size for our cars.

Yea the sf71s were the top of my list initially. Then I really liked the vmr v710s in 19s. Then a couple shots of 19s just looked a little too big. Especially on stock suspension which I am. Thinking about the rougher ride and possible damage I decided 18s. Then as I was talking to Cal at SonicMS, the v718s in 1er fitment was announced
I also liked the VB3s so the 718s were perfect |
