Be careful with harsh chemicals, they can pit and damage the paint on your wheels.

The goal is to keep the brake dust from sticking in the first place. That way you don't have to use crazy chemicals to get it off.

I second that...this is a great product.

Just used this for the first time this morning to get to the barrels...it works amazingly. In fact, I tested it with just water (didn't even use a soap or wheel cleaner, which would have probably sped up the process) and it worked great. It looks big but it actually does a good job at squeezing in between the front calipers and the barrels. According to all information I found, the bristles are made of a patented nylon material that has split ends (almost like microscopic brushes) to avoid scratching any surfaces.

That's exactly what I need. I am tired of busting my knuckles using my hand and a rag. Is the flange on the end of the handle rubberized in case it hits the wheels? It looks like it is, but just wanted to confirm. Do you have a link where you ordered from ?

Thanks!

It works wonders and anything the touches the car is rubberized, including the tip of the brush at the front and the knuckle protector. I got it as part of a little package for Christmas, but a simple search and it seems like autogeek has it...

Thanks, this should help. Currently it takes me longer to wash my wheels that the rest of the car combined.

No problem. I think you'll like it. Like you, I used to spend about 30-45 minutes washing the wheels before even getting started on the car. This simplified the process.

LOL, My wife was always asking, why are you washing the wheels first? I had to tell her if I washed last, the entire car would be dry and covered with water spots if I waited until the end.

Not only that, but if you wash and dry the car first, do you want to deal with water accidentally splashing from the wheels and onto the car?

Yep, there's no way I would dry first, that would drive me nuts. On cars with simpler wheels, I would wash car first and then wheels, but constantly rinsing the car between each wheel.

With our wheels we usually recommend Wheel Wax and soap and water, but I've seen this stuff before and it looks pretty cool.

I haven't seen anything about it damaging the paint on wheels or anything like that. This is supposedly after 450 miles of driving and some rainfall.

Wow looks like a great product from ArmorAll. I might have to try it out.

I have this sitting in my garage, never used it...it needs an hour to dry and apparently it needs to dry in 65F + weather. I just detailed my car this morning but temperature was in the 40's so I haven't used it yet.

Also, I bought this out of impulse without doing much research and typically ArmorAll products scare me. Anyone knows if it's safe on the finish of our wheels and calipers?

I haven't seen them in person but I snooped around the internet a bit and didn't see anyone reporting the finish on the wheels being damaged. It works well according to the reviews but it needs to be reapplied after short periods of time. Additionally after a bit more research, some reported it to add a slight haziness to the finish.

As previously stated, I've been using the AA product (the only product of theirs that I use) for three or four years now, on stock BMW and aftermarket powder coated wheels, with no ill effects. If you let it dry overnight, it doesn't sling and dries clear. If you get it on a little thick, it can have a slightly hazed appearance, but it's pretty minor.

I'm a semi-casual auto detailer, I would be very aware of any damage this stuff caused. I've been through multiple cans of it, roughly every three or four weeks on both cars and it works as advertised. It does come off with minimal water contact, so the above pic seems unlikely that it saw much if any rain, just driving through standing water seems to diminish nearly all benefit.

This is what I was afraid of. This is why, like you stated on your prior post, I only advocate water on soap for the wheels Yeah I go through shorter cycles but I wash my car weekly anyways, so the brush just helps me expedite the cleaning process!

Any haziness would be the applied AA, not the finish of the wheel. My wheels still look like new, many years and dozens of applications later. I do clay and apply Menzerna sealant twice a year, but the AA product does not discolor the wheel finish at all.

Thanks, good to know. I just need the courage to press the sprayer and use it lol ... but I have to wait for my next wash and hope that the temperature is right for it to dry according to instructions.

I've used it outside of the ideal range, when I didn't have a garage. It just takes longer to dry. The real advantage is just letting it sit overnight, which will ensure it's dry. I've washed the car, run some errands, used a quick detailer to clean up minor brake dust and then sprayed on the AA, and that still seems to work fine.

It's really water soluble, with very little oiliness, in fact it's less greasy than the 303 Protectant I use on my tires and doesn't add any gloss to the tires if you overspray a little, a look I'm not fond of. I prefer a matte, but black finish on the tires, and the AA stuff doesn't hinder that.

Try it, you'll like it. I was surprised too, I've spent years avoiding AA and similar snake oils.

Manna from heaven! My knuckles are a mess from cleaning those wheels almost every time I take the car out. Thanks!
