I Love My Wife

and she loves black cars . . . so I spend 5 hours on her black Altima for each hour I spend caring for the finish of my Space Gray 128!

Just wanted to take a moment to thank Detailed Image for shipping Blackfire Wet Diamond in only one day last week. I ordered the product based on previous threads and it is absolutely phenomenal.

Sorry that there are no pix, I was too tired!

Thanks to Greg and other 1ers for the education I've received reading this forum over the last few years. I think I have graduated from absolute hack to decent amateur.

I hear ya though. I've been a detailing enthusiast since I got my driver's licence. I've graduated from hack status but am still an amateur for sure.
I do have some professional products and equipment....however my best days came in 2004 when I was in college and my 1988 325i won best of show. (Zymol Vintage estate glaze wax as the topper, utilized hd cleanse, merzerna light polish). I applied the hd cleanse paint cleaner by hand and same goes for the Vintage wax. I only used the porter cable for the merzerna polish. That was my best moments in the detaling game....I doubt I'll ever match that...still have all the products; waxes (Zymol Vintage, Atlantique and Destiny) But I just got married 10 months ago and the stresses of work/life balance have me against the ropes when it comes to detaling. I can't keep up with both my gorgeous bimmers....and then I also got the wifes car to worry about too (10' CRV).

Wait until you have a few kids. I don't even have time to wash my cars!

If your kids are 8+ yo, get them to wash the car for you! Give them a penny for their time and you'll have them doing it weekly!

I might let my kids help me wash my car but I would never let them loose. God only knows what damage to the car would come of it. (Ha,Ha)
