Tire Valve Stem Caps
I'm a little OCD about my car, and I noticed the other day that I lost a cap. Picked up a set from the dealer with the BMW logo on them, got them home and noticed:
1) They don't match the wheel finish at all(more of a chrome) 2) They have a warning aganist using them w/ aluminum valve stems So I guess my question is has anyone found any that match and work OK on the stock wheels? |

Stick with the stock plastic caps. Metal on metal corrosion is real and you don't want to have a valve cover that you can't remove, sort of defeats the purpose.

Are the OE ones plastic? The ones that look like a upturned hat. They do not look like regular valve caps to me.
Those BMW logo ones have that warning probably bc of the chrome interacting with the aluminum valve stems. Could cause a welding to each other with different metal types. |

I have the //M logo ones and the screw insert is plastic and work with the stock value stem with no problem. You may want to to go back and exchange.
I did not use the OEM type since people keep stealing my OEM value caps to replace their loss; but none happen for about a year now since I switched over to the //M logo ones.
