I believe you are correct, sir.

That said, suppose a handful of people local to two BMW dealerships walk into dealership A and say "We're all in the market for 1ers, and we're all buying at the same dealership. What's your best deal?" and do the same at dealership B. They could, *perhaps* spark a bidding war between the two dealerships, provided the group sticks together.

Well, that's exactly the point. Best case scenario for BMW is that the car is in high demand and a lot of people want the car. However, even in that scenario, it will be hard for any dealer to turn down the potential sale of up to 5 cars on the same day. The dealer could assume that those 5 cars will be sold eventually anyhow but that will still take longer than one day to sell. Go in at the right time, i.e. end of the month, and Im sure that a dealer would love to get 5 cars off of their lots in one day regardless of how in-demand their product is.

I agree, but there are a bunch of factors that could mess things up.
First of all, getting the cars "off of their lots" implies that they have inventory, which may or may not be the case.
Second, as I said earlier, the group has to stick together, and I'm not sure that a group of total strangers would do so.
Third, (and this is a minor one), the deal would have to be general enough to cover everyone's situation, because everyone's going to want different options; the best way to handle it would probably be a general discount off of MSRP and another off of accessories.

I am in OC too. Sign me up for group ED !!

But I doubt we would get any good deal from OC BMW dealers according to my experience (Creviar, Irvine and Sterling BMW). They're usually pretty hard on pricing. New centry BMW (located in Alhambra) would be a better bet.
