Question Quick Hose Bath... Is It OK?

Hi guys and gals,

So I'm not going to have time to wash and wax my car this weekend, but I wanted to at MINIMUM hit it with a hose very quickly so that it looks slightly less disgusting (i'm sporting black sapphire metallic). Is there any harm in doing this knowing that I won't be able to use soap or do a full wash? I just want to use the spray to knock some crud off. Any downside to doing this?

Thanks for the input.

You're fine. That's no different than a good rain outside.

I guess I was worried about creating bad water spots. But like you said, no different than rain, right? Thanks.

just don't take a towel to it, since there's all that dirt still on that will scratch the paint. otherwise, hose to your heart's content....

depending on the ph level of your water, i'd be worried about letting it bead on the paint...could be worse than a rainfall.

Just wrong with just washing your car or hose it down, just be sure that its in the shad then you do it and dry it also. Water sports are a B*tch.

If you have anything close to hard water I wouldn't do it as you propose, ESPECIALLY with BLACK.

Drive it to a good self-wash that has a "spot free" (aka low pressure) setting and drop a few quarters. Bonus points if the self-wash is close to a freeway.

Good luck with the water spots from the water from your garden hose. Rain water and garden hose water cannot even be compared...

If you have to do a quik hose down, take the car to a coin op. wash spray it down, then hit the car with a spot free rinse, then drive the car to blow the water off......
