The above leads to confusion and leads people to make false conclusions. The manual (below) indicates that the amp cannot handle anything lower than 4ohms on the main 4 channels while the sub section can handle 2-4ohms.

Alpine Tech Support (1-800-832-4101) stated that the manual is incomplete: all outputs are 2-ohms stable and produce the same power at 2-4 ohms loads. It can also be bridged (ch1/2 and ch3/4) however, it its only stable down to 4 ohms while bridged.

Isnt there other options for the shallow mount subs?

I like the idea of not taking trunk space and using the 8" subs underseat...but are they powerful enough? Also, never heard of the LC6i...i always replaced the HU - sounds like a good option. Let me know how it works out for you. |
