Windshield Part no??

Holy crap I am furious.

I had a rock hit my windshield, so it needs to be replaced. My insurance uses a company called safelight for installation of windshield (they did not want to go to BMW dealership due to installation costs).

I clearly told them, I wanted OEM, my car has a gray tint at the top of the windshield, and it has a rain sensor.

The first time they came, about two weeks ago, they brought an OEM BMW windshield, but it had no tint at the top. So, I sent them back...

Today (two weeks later),

They came with a non OEM windshield with rain sensor, and green tint!!!

Anyone know the right part number for OEM BMW windshield, with rain sensor and gray tint.

Is it really that hard for them -_-

/end rant

They should all be made by Pilkington. At the time I had mine replaced, that was the only company who manufactured windshields for the 1er. That is who makes the OEM glass as well. I don't see a reason for them to make so many variations so I find this whole scenario quite odd. The rain sensor is a BMW part.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Well, according to realoem, there are different windshields, and they all have different part numbers.

For example, there is a "rain" sensor, and a "condensation" sensor - they are both different parts. Also, you can have green tint, or grey tint, or no tint.

The first windshield was OEM, had rain sensor, but no condensation sensor or tint.
Second windshield was aftermarket (no bmw logo, but probably made by Pilkington), and had rain sensor and condensation sensor, but was green.

Hopefully they got it right this time

Update - they said they got the windshield... but that it doesn't have any grey tint on the top. Now they are claiming that BMW may not make the windshield anymore? Is this true?
