Car and Driver=IDIOT!

Can you believe that C&D would say the 135i will start in the high 30's?? That would be so stupid!! Do they understand that the 335i starts at $40,800?? To me high 30's means like 38! I would easliy pay 2K more for a 335i!! Car magazines make me excited and furious at the same time!

Look at it this way... Who cares, now you can choose between the 2 cars... Even if they were equal in price I'd choose the one I liked the most. One is more performance orientated, one has more luxury.

Plus, C&D don't know, they are just guessing.

Watch and see, when US market 1 series pricing hits, there's gonna be alot of pissed off people in here. C&D doesn't randomly pull pricing out of their hat....

Instead, C&D is a major industry rag, and don't think that they are not in continous contact with knowledgeable and informed people inside all car companies. We already had one 1 addicts contributor with inside knowledge say the 135i was going to start about 3K less than the 335i. Sure, I'd like to see a 32K-34K starting price too, we all want something for nothing, but thats going to end up being a pipe dream. So word to the wise, put in some more overtime at your cubicle, and get prepared to take it like a man. BMW is not going to start giving a car away that goes 0-60 in less than 5 seconds. Speed costs money, how fast do you want to spend?

Actually, they pulled $33k out of their hat only a few weeks ago.

Finally, someone has said it!

Come to think of it, I'm also tired of the photoshops, especailly the photoshop requests. If you really want to see it in a different color, just do it yourself. I'm as tired as the next guy with Sedona Red, but that's life. The other colors will come out soon enough.

YEA!! These car magazines have made so many pricing speculations...I remember the may C&D stated the 128i starting at 25K with the 135i starting at 31-32K. Now there in the High 30's!!?? Like I said, they know nothing!

Actually this just shows that C&D isn't any better at guessing the price than anyone else. Nobody knows what the price will be until BMW announces it (or it gets leaked).

Yeah, and now its a few weeks later...and C&D has actually driven a 135i. You can bet they didn't rent it at the airport, they actually met with people from BMWUSA, and if they now say "High 30's", its a really good chance that its accurate.

We all want something for nothing. Its not gonna happen.

They could have easily meant high 30's for a reasonably optioned 135. I don't care about pricing speculation either at this point, but HIGH 30s sounds a little off. Fully optioned would put it close to the 335xi optioned auto I wanted originally. I'm not buying it. Throw another e-pinion onto the pile.

So you think that someone from BMW told them $33k a few weeks ago?

I think the preliminary information has now been superceeded, and after driving the 135i whilst meeting with representitives from BMWUSA, a published specification of "High 30s" is going to prove to be quite reliable. There's your touché.

Hard to say which is more funny...

people guessing at pricing, or those arguing with them about it.

$33-34 isn't nothing, but if it's going to cost $37 or $38...I'll go elsewhere...maybe even move up to a 3 series. I don't trust anyone other than BMWNA at this point, but speculation is half the fun:biggrin:

Damn it! Your right. I thought I read it other wise. We will know soon enough. I'm more worried by the sinking $. Most are hoping for low 30's. Mid 30's would be reasonable. High 30's STARTING makes no sense. Not unless the 3 series is moving up as well from the sinking $.
