+1! These better be far superior than every other LED solution out and able to compete with Alpine/Camaross since they cost more than them or else you may as well get HID's.

I would also like to see better and better quality pics including a daylight pic in direct sunlight before I even take these into consideration.

what's the difference between these and LUX H8? does 1 series LUX have 4 LEDs as well? I'm waiting for daytime pictures before I jump on this although group buy for Alpine HIDs is very tempting.

Hmm, tough call. These are obviously easier to install than the HIDs. I would still go with those, but these may be a great alternative - especially if they work well during the day.

A group buy may be in order though.

I have the Weislight AugenWeis and they look pretty much the same as these and have 2 led's in each unit.

Well the design of the 3-series coupe headlights and the 1 series headlight are designed very differently. i did a lot of work designing the LUX Bulbs to work specifically with the 1 series headlight, and needed to use a different style configuration to make them work properly and to make sure the outer ring is as bright as possible. So no the LUX 1-series does not have 4 individual LED's, but its just as bright as the LUX H8 bulb.

Do you have a picture of these, i'd like to be able to make a visual comparison of these.

Haha, I suppose I became the un-official 1addicts AE reviewer! On a serious note I should have the product in my hands by this afternoon.

I am going to hold off on all comments until I install and see for myself. One thing of note, plug and play is a whole lot better IMO than cutting/notching. Trust me this is coming from the person who actually did the HIDs w/ a DIY and people questioning the seal.

I am not knocking HIDs because they are by far the brightest AE I have ever own. I have too many AE at home to count. I think even Alex-Alpine would agree that the HIDs ring distribution could be better to the outter ring.

Are you referring to the WeissLicht? If so, based on the reviews I have read, the outter ring is difficult to see during the daytime. I think several members here have taken pictures which would support the claim. However, again, I don't have the product and I am just basing it on pix. Pics can be photoshop so take it for what its worth. FYI - DTEC and WeissLicht appears to have a very similar set up... 4 leds and I think the attempt was the have the LEDS match up with the distribution slots but it didnt work too well.

I am hoping to do a side by side with the following combination:

LUX/Brex
LUX/DTEC
LUX/GP Thunders
LUX/MTEC
LUX/HIDs

All taken with an above par DSLR with a tripod. from the same view. (Have this done by the weekend)

Not sure if the first four are necessary, but I won't deny it'll be nice to see.

I'm really interested in seeing/hearing about what you think of the LUX compared to the HIDs...although the other comparisons would be interesting too.

If anybody is looking for pictures of a lux comparo to stock and Alpine HIDs look at the 4th page of this thread.

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=alpine&page=4

A guy at our latest meet had lux rings and he was behind me for about 20 minutes and I can tell you that these things are visible and look damn good in direct sunlight. I plan on ordering myself a pair soon.
