So who thinks this can fit? :D
I came across some wheels I may want to run. What do you guys think about making this work?
17x8.5 +15 (front) 17x9.0 +32 (rear) 255/40/17 all around. Very odd setup/idea but I think it could be awesome. Thoughts?????

I should add I have Camber Plates as well as a roll and pull front and rear. I am currently running:
18x8.5 ET35 225/40/18 18x9.5 ET40 245/40/18 With RS3's which run quite wide.

without a widebody, I wouldn't see it happening....just look at your fronts then add 20mm of poke then 15mm more tire shoulder....hitting bumps would tear your fenders up
the rear would be doable with a narrower tire |

Don't see it happening either. I'm running 19x8.5 et37 /19x10 et 38. In the front I have 215/35's which don't rub but then in the rear I have 265/30's which do rub. I don't see it being possible to go any lower et wise in the rear really.

Do you know any practical way of testing fitment? I'm thinking something like putting a ruler against the center caps and attaching something vertical from there to see where it fits in the fender. Pretty bootleg but I can't think of any other way and the wheels/tires are in AZ so I can't test fit. Yeah, I think it is quite ambitious, but the rears I'm not quite so concerned with. The fronts are the big challenge here me thinks.

take a string with a washer on the end drop it from the top of the fender arch....you can measure the distance to the string to tire to give yourself a relative idea of how much room you have to work with
in the fitment thread there are a few of the hardcore track set ups that run 17's...i would check them out to see what some reasonable square set ups are |

I run 245/40/18 Hankook RS3 in the front on an 18x8.5 +35 Apex rim. Does NOT fit in the front OR rear under load... Rubs super bad... Rolling the fenders next season. It is totally fine though just coasting around on the street. That being said, I fit a 245/35/18 Kumho Ecsta XS on the same wheels front and rear with NO RUB at all...
I think you'd still rub on that setup despite having a 17" wheel. |
