Rear Shock Install Question

I have installed my rear suspension multiple times, but now I need to only remove the shocks from the rear. I've always followed this thread on installing the rear suspension: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=763316 and when installing the rear you drop down the whole arm and remove the bottom mount that's on the shock. Is it possible to just unbolt the top nut and bottom nut from the damper mount and compress the shock to remove it, then compress the new shock and insert into the mount again?

Thanks!

Possibly, depends on how much travel the shock can travel.

Worth a shot.

Depending on how much droop the previous shock has you can have more travel on the hub once you unbolt the shocks. For example the TCK shocks have about half the travel compared to OEM

I know for sure the shocks going in will compress enough, just not sure about the Megans coming out. I'll give it a try, reason I'm asking is I don't have all my tools with me so I can't really unbolt the whole arm.

Funny you asked cause i just swapped my rears out. And yes, all I did was unbolt the top and bottom and compress the shock.
