Illuminated M Shifter Retrofit Kit

BMW M Shifter Retrofit Kit

http://www.aftermarketbulbsshop.com/...p/bmw-sh-r.htm

We were the first to introduce the E60 and E63 harness and are proud to now introduce the E8x harness.

Harness is available for:
1-Series (E8x)
3-Series (E9x)
5-Series (E6x)
6-Series (E6x)

This German engineered Kit will permit you to replace your current Steptronic shifter with an illuminated M shifter and is completely Plug N Play. In addition, the Kit is made to perfectly conform and fit under your shifter base plate without any excess wires that can get in the way.

This Kit has the ability to change the brightness of the shifter LEDs. Without this, the LEDs are VERY bright and distract during night time driving.

Install Time: Approximately 10-15 Minutes

First person to order a 1-Series harness will receive a $50.00 discount for posting pictures of the install

Is there any way you can make a video on how the new m shifter functions? I saw some of the pictures and noticed that when in D the -/+ illuminates even though you can't hit it up or down. Now if you were to switch it to the left I can understand it illuminating then but as for it being on while in D is confusing. Also how do you select PRND without being able to press to unlock? As for the sport button, does it play any role or just sit there since all you have to do it slide the shifter to the left? Thank you.

I think I know why you are confused. The M shifter is designed for SMG so there is only R,N,D. D includes the -/+ so it has to light up that way. Pushing the unlock button is a mechanical process and get's removed when you take out the old shifter. The sport button has additional features but is not interfered with by this kit. Moving the shifter to the left is not the same as hitting the sport button.

This kit will work as long as you have a shifter that looks like this

I do have the zf transmission. So what your saying is that the sport button actually serves a purpose and needs to be pressed to activate sports mode, then move the shift t the left so that I could use it manually? I am aware of how the smg knob works on the m5 just didn't know how it worked with our setup seeing as you need to move be know to the left to actuvat sports mode. Would the sports button work even when in normal D?

What sport button are you referring to? The 1 didn't have a sport button until 2011, did it? There's no sport button on the smg shifter...

I think he's referring to his 335i that he also has

Correct. The sport button has to be pushed to go into full sport mode. pushing to the left enables manual shifting (up/down) and ups the rev limit but with the sport button a lot of other little features get enabled. you can turn on the sport mode even in regular D. All the shifter does is display R, N and D when in the appropriate gear.

The pictures that you have up on your website all have a sport button on the center console. Currently the 2009 135i's don't have that button. So adding this retrofit kit, would the button play a role when wanting to engage sports mode?

Ohhh the pic on the website is from an E64. Don't worry about that.. if you have a sport button or not won't affect how the kit is installed or functions.
