Thanks for the nice write up Donnie!
I just picked up a Yatacama Yellow Z4 and will be doing my 8th or 9th PCD experience in a few months.... Can you reserve one of these bad boys for me.... Can't wait to see you and the gang again....

I was fortunate enough to ride a hot lap with Donnie back in December 2010, and as I'm sure some of you know, that M5 is INSANE. Can't wait to go back and see a 1M!
Just ignore what sounds like me having a crisis in the passenger seat... |

I have just finished reading through your description of your 1M drive and enthusiasm for the third time. You worked with my two boys and me during a two-day school and I have forwarded your post and the thread link to them via email, along with some short remembrances of our experiences at Greer. Your enthusiasm and writing left me feeling as if I was almost in the M with you. I took delivery of mine almost four weeks ago and have had the same reaction. Overall, the car doesn't drive or even look like anything else from BMW. It leaves nothing wanting in achieving a well-balanced, dead-accurate, confidently controllable and capable set up for the driver. Excellent post. Good hearing from you. Thanks. |

I am 1.5 hours south of Greer and would love to go north for a drive through roads selected by a local expert - especially Donnie. When my son and I drove the dragon in 2009 (after taking delivery at the PC in July 2009), we picked scenic roads using a map provided through one of the dragon websites. It was fun but we didn't really know what the roads would be like and there was certainly a variety. We also missed some picture opportunities due to paying too much attention to the driving (hairpins with metal guardrails and a new BMW had that effect on me).
There are several other 1addicts in the local BMWCCA chapter who are also likely participants. Jim

Donnie,
Great review as the launch reviews have been great so far through out BMW land on the internet. Looking forward to driving the 1M at the 2 day M school in 3 weeks at the PCD. JFM |

Looking forward to meeting you later in summer when I come down to the PDC for school and to pick up my 1M. Perhaps you can suggest an interesting route back to DC. I've been thinking of heading home via the Smokies and Asheville, NC. Neil P.S. Give Mike Renner my regards. Have gotten to know him through the One Lap. |

Thanks for the write up Donnie. I just heard from my dealer yesterday that mine isn't going to be built until October. I am really looking forward to my Euro delivery and Performance Center redelivery! It just seems so far away now.

Donnie, I believe you also were my instructor when I picked up my 135 in Sep. 2010. Awesome instruction and the M5 was amazing, I always recommend PCD to friends who are considering a new BMW. And I agree that those roads like Tail of The Dragon are the best way to break in a new BMW. The most fun you can have under 4500 RPM! Wade

I can't say enough things about the instructors and the M driving school. Worth every penny and I plan another trip to get some pointers for my 1M and hopefully the new M5 will be there so I can check it out on the track!

Im from NY and should be picking up my 1M at the performance center in 3 weeks. I want to figure out a good, fun route to drive back on. If you could tell me where to go I would appreciate it. I was planning on going through the blue ridge mtns.
Thanks |

By the way gang, "OhCrap", was our first recipient of the new 1M at the Performance Center on Friday. I had just completed the 1,200 mile break-in the night before so that he would have a car to drive the next morning. I can assure you, he was not disappointed! I recognized that same look in his eyes on the handling course...the same look I had in mine just a few nights before! I know he is busy, but I hope he can soon post a full write-up (and pictures) about his experience.
