DCT not going into park

Hi guys i bought a 2012 135i dct with 62k miles and the car will not go into park. When you click on park it just goes into N and says car not in park please secure vehicle so it doesn't roll. you can hear it trying to go into park because it clicks but never does. is it the B1-PARK LOCKOUT BMW OEM Part Number 61319192483 ?

Maybe the manual release screw has somehow moved? That might stop the the shifter going into park

Hello,

My car just started doing the same thing. I tried to use the park button and I hear clicking from the selector.

Any updates on this one?

It really is the world's most unnecessaryily complicated shifter isn't it? How is it "better"? Its one of the things I truly despise about mine. Just look at Chrylser FCA who copied Audi's throttle style. Theirs apparently killed a celebrity.

Mine does this too, most likely because I drive it in manual mode 98% of the time.
I got it fixed at the dealership awhile ago (I think they replaced the mechanism inside the shifter, not the whole shifter), but it came back not too long after that, so I just flip it back over to D manually now
