New Tune Only Record. 12.0 @ 115

Ran at the track today in Louisiana. Temps were in the mid 90s all dam day, they dropped to about 80* tonight. Track conditions blew. There was a 10mph head wind, 4 wheelers on dirt tires tearing up the lanes, and a **** ton of excess water after the burnout box. I hate to make excuses, but I think with a better day It could have gone better.

Car took a while to adapt, i saw traps anywhere from 114-115. Heat soaking was the main issue.

I sure wish i could leave harder. At times i would break traction before i even left. I really think i need to run a wider tire in the future. This car really has 11's in it. Just needs to be a really kool day and itll get there. Next up is other bolt ons...maybe ill see mid 11's with bolt ons.

BTW, yes I own a meth kit, NO I didnt use it. I had 11's tune only on my mind for the longest time, but now its time to move on from that goal, as I am content with my 12 flat

yes, but that was on april 9th, that was the old tune pass, i ran the new time last night

Stock wheels, "street tires"...they are DOT, so that is considered a street tire.

Nice times, BUT I agree with above comment. To me, race gas+DRs+tune is not "Tune Only"...tune only is tune only. Regardless though, very nice times indeed. Are you auto or manual? Do you think you could have gotten lower 60fts? Maybe with 17s and DRs mounted? Thanks.

just because they are dot legal doesn't make them street tires. That's why they're called drag radials, cause they are tires that have been optimized for the drag strip.

Regardless tho, nice times. I'll be damned I I ever get close to breaking 11s in my car.

I don't know exact numbers, but drag radials might be worth .2-.3 of a second? Then the MS109 another .2 or so?

That's .5 second, a similar benefit of which a set of downpipes might give you. Tune only? Why are you even contesting it?

I believe he is one of those tune only guys that thinks tune only means weight reduction, drags, race gas, removed intake/exhaust parts ect ect.
