Anybody wrap Glacier Silver trim with 3M DI Noc?

Hey all, new guy here. Just picked up a 2010 135i/steptronic about a week ago.

I was wondering if anybody has wrapped the glacier silver trim with the 3M di-noc vinyl? I've done quite a bit of searching, but it seems like everybody that has wrapped something had smooth trim pieces and my 2010 has a textured finish like a golf ball.

Also, I'm not sure if it's just a 2010 thing, or maybe because I have the steptronic, but I don't have an ashtray like all the pictures I see, I have a larger cubby-type area. For example I can easily fit my cell phone in there. I have the M-Sport interior package, not sure if that explains it.

I'll spare you a long intro of me, but I've had lots of different cars, as a matter of fact, this is my 31st car. I also have a Lexus IS350, and my weekend racer toy is a stage 3 Dodge SRT-4. Goes great straight, but forget the turns!

If you're looking to cover up your trim, how about you swap me your aluminum trim for my high gloss black trim, which has a smooth finish and would likely be much easier to cover with the di-noc vinyl.

I don't believe anyone with glacier trim has wrapped it. The di-noc will definitely wrap better on a smooth surface. Wrapping it on the glacier trim will probably not hold as well. Find someone to swap trims with you if you want to wrap it. Check the classifieds as I've seen people want to trade for glacier trim before.

actually, i did it to the aluminum golf ball trim. you can go look at my album or my narcissistic thread below. if you're in/around the ny/nj/ct tristate area i'm happy to give the name and info on the place i got mine done. it looks great and totally changes the interior.

If you're going to cover up the trim anyway, why not swap with someone that has "smooth" trim already and make two people happy :-)

End self plug…

I have a Glacier trim that I would like to swap with someone. I would prefer a wood trim of some kind. Any takers? Please PM me. Thank you in advance

I think you're too new to PM, but I'll swap my gloss-black for your glacier trim
