Best BMW Service Dealership in So Cal?
Ok,
So just wondering; what dealership do you guys recommend in terms of service in LA/Orange County? I brought my Bimmer at BMW Long Beach, but they seem like a small operation, makes me nervous to take it there.... |

if you want big then try crevier Orange county... Don't expect your car to be done quickly just get a loaner. Good service other than that though

I like that LB is one of the few CCA supporters, but I've never used them for service.
I bought and service mine at the gorgeous new Rusnak dealership in Westlake Village. They have a massive, immaculate indoor service area where the cars get worked on, then they're stored upstairs in covered parking until pickup. I try to avoid dealers for anything other than warranty work, but they've been great so far. My service advisor, Bob Martin, is an enthusiast who currently has a built 996 Turbo, but previously had a modded E46 M3. He does track days and "gets it." If you go there, request him. |

Shelly BMW is pretty good i've heard, even though my friend has had a bad story.
dont go to irvine even though shelly owns irvine. that place is a nightmare. crevier is pretty solid but takes some time, but they have a nice loaner fleet. not familiar with any others

Shelly BMW has a solid parts department. The guy there is cool and he'll hook you up on BMW Performance parts if you service your car there.
Same thing goes for Crevier.... if you go to their website, you'll notice they offer nice discounts on their performance catalog which in my opinion makes them consumer-friendly. Long Beach, Beverly Hills, and Monrovia BMW are all Sonic Dealers..... publicly-traded dealerships tend to understand the value of service customers, and therefore tend to pay more for skilled techs. I hear that New Century is pretty mod-friendly, is a volume dealer, and has a slick service setup. santa monica bmw would be last on my list. |

If my car died in front of Santa Monica BMW, I would call the tow-truck company, and have it taken somewhere, anywhere, else. Plus, I think they wanted to void my warranty because I put the aluminum pedals on my car (j/k but you get my meaning).
I have a hard time recommending Beverly Hills BMW. I think they're trying, but the service area is tiny and understaffed, and I've waited a long time to get helped. I've had OK luck with South Bay BMW. They're good with loaners, but their parts guy is a kind of a putz. I had my car in their shop for days waiting for brake pads that he should have had in stock. The service writer did what he could to remedy the situation, and I got a free detail out of it, so it worked out in the end. Crevier was good too, but I'm not anywhere close to their dealership anymore, so can't make it down there. |

Every time I take my car to Irvine it's a hassle, especially with Richard the SA. I had to take it in there recently due to time constraints and that is the closet dealer. My SA was Jose and everything went smoothly. Will most likely go back for him in the future if I have to, but will be looking towards other dealerships.

Nathan, When I had my 330 I used to go to Center BMW and never had a good experience, NEVER, plus since I did not buy my BMW from their location I could never get them to pay for a rental car for normal service. They said that since I did not buy my car from them, they would not pay for the rental. I think I will head north now to see you now that I have a new 128i. Is it a standard policy not to pay for a rental car for standard oil change/factory service if you did not buy a car at the dealership?

Most dealerships have such a limited supply of loaners that they can't give them to everyone. I mean think about it - it's close enough to pay the bills when you have free maintenance for 60% of the cars that come in. I may be able to hook you up with loaners, but it's a long shot. It would be easier if you refer people in the market for a car to me, then my manager will make them give you a loaner.(+remember autonation = i can get any kind of used car, not just bmw). My manager is loyal to the people loyal to him. Either way, our service department is great, and come see me and I'll get you to someone good. Chris La Porte is awesome here.

I highly recommend South Bay BMW for service. Ask that Hiep or Berto work on your car. Both guys are serious BMW enthusiasts and will work really hard on your car. They know their stuff and do great work!

I agree, in fact that is where I bought my 128i that I am picking up on Tuesday. The problem is that dealership is 40 miles from my house. But that being said, if they will do service while I wait then it might be worth it to take the drive.
