328i or new g35 coupe
I heard the new g35 coupe will debut at dealers in the spring of 2007.
If that's the case, for about the same price- would you guys prefer a bmw 328i coupe loaded or get the new infiniti g35 with most options coming standard and more horsepower? |

Agreed G35 has more power than 328i but you need to run it at high RPM in order to gain that horse power, where BMW HP & torque kicks in between 1500 - 3K RPM, not to mention BMW provide 4 yrs free maint compare that to Nissan and see if they offer that service.

I'd be "downgrading" from a 30 to a 28, but I'd still take the 28 over a G35. I'm not into all those electronic gadgets. I wouldn't use more than half of them probably.
With the 255HP already, it's more than I need, so wouldn't need a car with more.

Hard to tell. I like the current g35 but I would pick the 328 (coupe or sedan) over the current G. I can't make any conclusions regarding the new one until I see/drive it in the flesh. On paper the completion I test drove before ordering a 330 seemed very compelling but didn't measure up in person (TL, G35 coupe and sedan, IS350, A4, 525). All of them were great cars, but just not the best IMHO.
Since I have ordered my car (and driven it during ED) I have had the opportunity to drive another G35 and even a 350z (a loaner from my brother until my car arrives). I can definitely say that after test driving most of the e90 completion and my recent nissan/infiniti experiences, I am VERY happy with my decision to get the 330. I would have easily preferred the 325 over all of the others as well. If I were going to be in the market for another car in 2007, the new G would have to offer more than just 20 additional hp and some new styling and features over its predecessor to get my vote.

I tested the 2006 G35 sedan with sports package before buying a 330i. I admit I had my doubts before I tested it (I almost didn't bother), but it drove great. The interior was better than I expected, but not as nice as the Bimmer. In the end, it was the better interior of the 330i and a little bit of badge snobbery that made me choose the BMW.
FWIW, the other cars I tested were the TL, G35, Mazdaspeed 6, IS350, Jetta GLI, and Passat. All were fully loaded and with a MT and sports package (if available). All were fast and fun, but only the G35 seemed to drive as well as the BMW. |

haha I wonder what it'd be like if BMW isnt an independent company. Lambo is owned by VW too and I know a bunch of people here would love to own one. I think the interior is kinda cool looking. That's about it. THe plastic does look cheap to me. WARD- haha I hella noticed that when I saw the pix. I guess we need to have long ass arms to teach that knob. |

if the torque peak is at 4800 RPM the curve is anything but nice and flat the high torque peak is why the nissan motors feel weaker than BMW motors, even if they're not |
