shift knob dimensions

I am creating my own shift knob with a 3-D printer for my 2008 135i and I cannot find the exact dimensions of the opening to attach the knob to the shifter. So if anyone knows the exact dimensions please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.

Why don't you just take your knob off and measure it?

I do not have my car with me right now. I'm away at school which is where the 3-D printer is.

Exact dimensions? They need to be right on for that. Will be tough to get that info.

All of the 3D printing I've done has made really light weight parts, shift knobs tend to be heavy, which means if you duplicate the shape it may just not be very good in actual use. In case you were thinking of doing that for some reason. Also while the parts aren't exactly brittle, they aren't particularly robust either.
