That is truely the closest color I have seen. I think BMW took it from terra cotta, as in the clay pots too. If you don't like it that's fine, but I really love it.

they could have just taken it from the word terra meaning earth or ground. it is basically the color of rich soil (i don't mean that in a bad way)

That's a lot better than BROWN. It's not brown. Your color is really close.

I wanted Terra before I even saw it but I loved Arctic more and didn't think they worked well together. If it weren't for Arctic I probably would have gotten Monaco/Terra. I like SG/Terra but my last car was a similar color gray so I didn't want the same thing. I also would have gotten Black Sapphire/Terra but I didn't want to have a black car living in Florida without a garage, too much maintenance and I wouldn't want it to fade.

Mystic Blue and Terra for me.
IMO most pics out there truly do not do it justice. It really does look much better in person. When my friend and I both ordered our cars for ED, she backed out on getting Terra, then when we picked up our cars in Germany, she really regreted her decision after seeing my car with Terra. It's not for everyone, but for those considering the option, you will not regret it once you see in person.

As for the xi... though I don't live in the snow belt, I felt compelled to get the x-drive. The drive back from Spartanburg through the Tail of the Dragon proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was the right choice!
