Just curious any one that is leasing a car, do you bring it to the dealer your leasing it from or can you bring it to other dealers? I'm currently leasing my car from Laurel but it's a bit of a hike for me to drive out there every time I have a issue with the car. I wanted to try and bring it to Patrick for warranty work. I'm having a issue with one of my headlamps after I hit a dip in the road and since I'm reading they are more mod friendly I don't want to have to remove my JB4 just to have them look at my car.

i bought my car from patrick and from my experiance it depends on who your service writer is. the first guy i had was awesome. he swapped out windshield wipers, cabin filter, and a bunch of other stuff when i went in for the scheduled brake fluid flush.
the last time i went in because my car was throwing a code (P0304) somehow from the time i got from my garage to the dealership it had morphed into a B-Code for an evap leak and there was no active DTC. the service writer wound't even give me the paper work from the service, he said that they would mail it to me after i asked him how the code changed from an active to a stored evap code.

Since no one mentioned, right between Perillo and Patrick is Elmhurst BMW. A much smaller shop with very friendly SAs. Not sure how tolerant they are on mods, but I have gotten no BS there and they include loaners even if you didn't buy from them.

I've had great experiences with Bill Jacobs MINI service, total opposite with Jacobs BMW service.
Last straw was advising me that I needed new front tires due to 'uneven wear' and an alignment for wheel noise up front on every revolution. $1000!! Car is 11mo old with about 6k on the tires. Took the 135 to my tire guy and tires are in perfect shape with barely any sign of normal wear. I would recommend Patrick for service.

Dont know about Motorwerks. The last time I was there for a test drive they had 50% of their RFTs on the 335s going the incorrect direction. The saleman was great. The service guy seemed stuck up b/c he saw I arrived in a 1.

me: yeah my tailight is out. looks like there is a recall on it. sa: no there is no recall. me: well its a CPO and i have the maintenance plan, i have had for two weeks and this is my second time back already... They sold me a car with non bmw blue fluid in it that i was questioned about adding. Place is a joke. They do give loaners though. Patrick on the other hand was a great experience. and they have some nice Eye Candy while you wait |

I second the notion that Elmhurst Service sucks. They will peg you for mods, and will do everything not to do the service required. It is a great place to buy a car, but not to service it. Patrick is good depending on who your SA is. Aaron McCall is great. Timo is also good. Both are BMWCCA and Windy City BMW members.

Anyone know if Patrick picks up the car and returns it to you? My last car was a JCW mini from that Patrick dealer group... they would drive out in a loaner, leave loaner, take my car and reverse on the tail end. Was great!

Had my first oil change (5k miles) yesterday at Patrick. Just as you guys recommended, Timo was super. I bought my car at Motowerks Barrington but Schaumburg was closer to me, so went to Patrick for service.
Would def recommend. They had a M6 in the showroom btw. |

Patrick +1. Yes, Patrick has pick up and free loaner. BTW Timo left Patrick. Big loss for Patrick. Big win for Bill Jacobs where he is at now.
Motorwerks -1. Both parts and service bad experiences.

Had a great experience at Fields BMW the other day but it was a fairly routine oil change. Although, they did notice I hadnt done wipers so they did that, and also my deck lid struts needed replacing so they ordered those for me no questions asked.

Bumping up this thread. I just purchased an 09 135i with about 37,000 miles on it. I have 6 months of the original factory warranty left. I would like to take my car in to a dealer and get things checked out. Any ideas on where to go and what I can tell them to have them look over everything for me and I won't have to pay out of pocket ??

I'll be taking my car into Patrick this weekend for the recall for the positive battery cable and then I'll be trading it into Roto the next week.

^ I was just at Patrick this past weekend. Been there twice they are great over there. I had my battery cable replaced and then this past weekend I was there and they told me there is a software update for my car. They are going to give me a loaner while they do that they said it will take 8hrs.

Be careful when trading in your bmw when the lease it up. A friend of mine leased a new bmw and traded in to a diff dealer and got screwed because the sales woman and the dodge dealer told him they can take care of the trade in no problem. He ended up having to pay money in the end cause the lady didn't know what she was talking about.
