What do you mean that they're "now premium?" Was there a price increase from Germany or something?
Now for all parts not installed or shipped it's like 1600$ lol... That quote is from Tischer too! Outrageous...

Turner Motorsport has them on sale (this month) for $999.95. Tischer had them for $930 for a long time, but you're right, their price has gone way up. I didn't even see the kits on United's site - maybe they're NLA?

Maybe that's why the price is so high because they might be redesigning them and production is low...

The kits are NLA. I'll be able to answer all questions when I get back on Wednesday. For now I'll have limited access to email and PMs. I'm with BMW for a conference so don't forget to check out my performance parts threads to ask questions.

For Wednesday: are these kits permanently NLA? Or just back-ordered? If permanent, is there some sort of updated kit on the horizon? I'm specifically interested in the 128i, BTW.

Thanks, Dan

I would also be interested in the 135i kit for that price ($900) if they become available again. Let us know

Guys they won't be at that price anymore. BMW put a premium on them. Tischers identical kit is almost $2000 for a 135i with the full rotors and everything. This price was too good to be true and didn't last long. I'm sure if Tischer or United could sell them at this price they would still be doing so.

Yah and they would be sold out like the sway bars haha. This price will not be seen again even for a group buy ...

No, I know they won't be that cheap again - just wondering what's up with them being NLA. Like is there a newer kit coming out, etc.

And my bump was just to keep this thread from being buried while Dan is gone.

the NLA is probably on the price, not the actual kit. Tischer says they still sell it, spoke to Evan yesterday.

Dan - welcome back! Any news on these brake kits? Just temporarily out of stock? I know the $845 price is a no go...

BTW, anything new on the horizon for BMW Performance?

They are available again after another look.

However the MSRP on each has changed.

135i - $2731.34
128i - $1713.77

Obviously we can work something out, but not sure how much interest there is to do so.

Agreed - for the 135i anyway.

128i owners actually get an upgrade.

Still 2 grand for brake upgrade? You could invest a ton in the engine area with that!

does the 128 kit come with front and rear calipers or just front?

Just front.

I've asked this question time and time again with BMW... "why don't you just sell the kit as a front just like with the 328i?"

The answer is because Germany doesn't, and apparently the rear brakes on the German 1's are not as good as the US 1's, so the kit comes with 6 piston front calipers, but factory US-Spec rear calipers.

Additionally, 135i kits do work on 128i's but the use of the e-brake is eliminated due to the shoes not being able to touch the rotors.

with out actually looking up the details...a person so motivated could order 135i e-brake shoes and complete a swap for larger rear rotors?
