this is good info for dct cars.

bmw0bsession: looking forward to hearing the results after cranking up the boost. Im sure it will move, because newguys car was very fast. It will be really interesting to hear how the dct handles the higher boost.

on a side note, does anyone know of a shop that can properly install the ssp or Dodson clutch upgrade?

Did I not say all of this in my review

Stage 2 will require SSP or similar clutch packs IMO. It's been shown that the DCT can be overpowered with stage 1 turbo FBO and BEF...

Interested to see what Terry can get out of his F80 M3 with Pure stg2's!

Pure Stage 1 is an extremely cost effective upgrade that helps get the most of the upper rpm range of the engine.

Are you still running the stock cast internals? Any worries there? Thanks and glad to hear you've achieved a new level with your car.

Yeah stock internals are fine so far on a lot of 400+ whp n55's. I don't think there are any 500+ WHP n55's out there yet though to test the water

This may be the thread you are referring to?

http://www.***********.com/showthrea...SP-CLUTCH-PACK

oh and @Houtan, good catch on Dodson, forgot they had kits as well.

The local guys speak of SSP more often as a solid product but I heard the customer experience may be flaky?

Check out the VTT stage 2 turbo DCT on one of the other forums . How is this clutch not slipping?

Who's that? Terry's? I didn't think it was DCT but I'm sure there has to be a stg2 turbo n55 dct out there!?

Sounds like SSP has installed over a dozen on n55 dcts; maybe one of those guys is on here?

Yes, you send your core they send their turbo. When they receive your core they refund you the deposit. Then you install new turbo, spend tons of money on methanol and e85. Once you have done so, sit back, relax and enjoy a nice cold beer while getting a BJ in your car. BJs are best served with boost.

I believe m4 is jb4, map 7, race gas, catless, and exhaust, put down 537 whp.

Pure is pure stage 1, er CP, meth, e50, jb4 ISO map 6, bms high load BEF, stock intercooler, stock downpipe. DCT is holding strong at 20 psi on bms high load BEF!

Are you running regular fuel? No E85? If not I would say it depends on whether you want more low end torque, or if you want the power to build at higher RPMs. Meth will allow you to run more boost on the stock turbo's giving you more torque but you will feel the power drop off at higher RPMs. If you go with a Pure Stage 1 and no meth you'll feel the power build better at high RPMs but you'll have less torque because the octane won't be there to build high boost.

As far as how well the DCT holds each of these options, I'm not sure since I have a manual. If I recall correctly it wasn't until people got the Stage 1 with meth or E85 that they starting seeing problems.
