They can easily tell just by looking at the greasy fingerprints on the ecu cover.

I think the JB3 on a conservative map like map3 would be great for you. The JB3 is diagnostically invisible to BMW so you should have no worries. Its a full plug and play install so it leaves no traces. Fingerprints under the hood don't really qualify as overwhelming evidence of a tune.. LOL

My recommendation to most is that if you are going in for routine maintenance like an oil change to leave the tune in and just set it to map0 (tune off), but if you are going for power-train related warranty work then its safer to remove the tune.

Hope that helped clarify a few things, but feel free to ask away if you have any other questions.

If you were worried about warranty issues while playing with the JB3 why would you leave "greasy fingerprints" on the ECU cover?

If you do said thing I have no remorse if and when you get caught

By you I mean anyone that does it, no you specifically.

Is the dealer wants to find out, they can tell.....you can clear them all you want, but they still reside there. same as your PC. Delete all files, but they are still there. Anytime you mod, you are paying to play. If you ARE WORRIED, LEAVE STOCK, OR JUST DO IT AND ROLL THE DICE. Ask any BMW tech.

The Dinan Stage 2 is installed at BMW and is covered at the dealership. $2000 for 85hp is a bargain.

Let me correct that for you:

The Dinan Stage 2 is installed at Dinan certified BMW dealers and the powertrain warranty is covered by Dinan only at those certified dealers.

The Dinan is a nice option, but their advertising is misleading. It has been proven to put down around 50hp to the wheels, compared to 40hp to the wheels with the JB+ and 60-80hp to the wheels with the JB3.

LOL. BMW will always(!) find out in if you do not run with OEM software. In case of trouble, they just check f.i. your psi and fuelpressure, etc. If not stock values than they know it's not BMW software. It is that easy to find out ofcourse. And your guarantee is gone.

With jb3 ecu never sees higher than stock boost or fuel pressure. It is invisible to BMW.

The SSTT will set manipulation codes under certain conditions.

You post this same crap in every thread where it comes up, and you have yet to provide a single shread of evidence to support your claim.

Show us a thread where someone has had a claim denial because of a JB3 or Proceed that's been detected after it was removed. Either back your statements up with some facts, or stop spewing this nonsense.

The JB3 basically fools the ECU into thinking it is seeing stock boost in effect.

So, a JB car is doing a lot more horsepower, without actually rising the turbo PSI? So if BMW is doing a dyno-run, and they see a 350whp, they would say: yes, it's normal, it is a stock car? I see.

What I am trying to tell there, is that I do not understand when people tune their cars (without co-operation of BMW) and then - when something goes wrong (which there is a lot if I read all the posts here on that subject - go back to BMW, first try to wipe out all the tunings evidence - and ask BMW to co-operate when it comes to guarantee. I do have a point on this, don't I?
