New member (135i coupe, Deep Sea Blue)

Hi! New member here, though I've been reading this forum for a couple of months now.

I've had a BMW E30 325i as my daily driver the last 8 years or so and I really like a lot of its features (size, power, LSD, looks), but I was getting too comfortable to drive that thing every day. The E30 is a lot of fun, but also pretty loud and jerky.
And so my quest for a more modern and comfortable daily driver began. I wanted a RWD, manual, non-cabriolet that's fun to drive and not incredibly expensive. My first thought was the Toyota GT86 / Subaru BRZ. It is in a lot of ways like the E30. Compact, naturally aspirated, RWD with LSD. Then I realized I could buy a slightly older 135 instead and get much more car for the money. More power, more seats, bigger boot, more equipment, more pretty much everything. After scanning the market here in Sweden and in Germany for about two months, it showed up; A 2012 135i in Deep Sea Blue at the right price. My father and I took a plane to Germany, picked it up and drove the 640 miles back home.
All the papers for the import have now been approved after a couple of weeks of Swedish authorities messing up, which means I can finally drive it!

Sedona Red used to be my favorite, but I'm really happy with this color, and chromeline compliments it well. I do miss the anthracite headliner that many euro 135's have though.

I'm planning on buying a set of BMW 313 rims for it, probably next spring or so. So far I've only added an original warning triangle (required in all vehicles in Sweden). No other mods planned for now, I'm just going to enjoy it.

Welcome to the club. Deep Sea Blue is beautiful. Good choice on the future purchase of the 313s.

Looks great, congrats! I've always liked that color -- it looks great on the 1-series.

Thanks! I saw a DSB coupe on here with 19" 313s, looks great. I might go for the 18" ones though. Or some other design. Time will tell.

I've never seen them next to each other but Deep Sea Blue should be a bit darker.

Welcome! Gorgeous car! Hyperblack 313s would look amazing on your car and really pull the dark/black out of that Deep Sea Blue paint on yours depending on the light. Just sayin.

Actually, that's not a bad idea. I've thought of powder coating my 313s black. Think it would look great with LMB. My only concern is I don't want to lose that "machined finish" look.

Black and you'll lose the definition, which is what's great about the 313. Hyperblack and you'll get awesome shimmer. Almost like liquid metal.

Good to know. I'll have to look into that. Thanks.
