Limp mode caused by vanos bolts?
Hey guys since my car is out of storage, it's been throwing some codes (getting in limp mode)randomnly... Vanos bolts recall is being done in 2 days and I wonder if those are related:
2C70 Boost pressure sensor, electrical: Short circuit to earth 2C58 Boost pressure control, deactivation: Boost pressure build-up blocked 281B Absolute pressure sensor, intake pipe, electrical:Short circuit to earth Taken from in-dash code reading and http://www.n54tech.com/flash_files/N55_codes.pdf Also JB4 went crazy a couple of time by not activating at the start of the car and by gauge hijacking not returning to normal use. So are the two issues related or the JB4 connections may be the trouble? Thanks Edit: Forgot to mention that codes only show when I start the car, doesn't mather hot or cold, and just a restart clears the limp mode. Last edited by daflamme; 04-27-2015 at 11:44 AM.. |

Broken VANOS bolts cause intake or exhaust camshaft timing faults. Or VANOS uncontrollable on start up.
Like the previous poster said, check your JB4 connector to the MAP sensors. |

Thanks to both of you. Everything looked fine when I removed the JB in view of my appointment, but I'll pay even more attention when I put it back

So I got the car back and reinstalled the JB4 and everything looks ok but I have one interrogation. On the JB harness, the connector intercepting the MAP has 4 wires while the car's connector only has 3. Is my car special or the harness maybe has multiple application?
JB4 connector, brown wires Car connector, only 3 wires with a plug |
