Finally, I have joined the dark side.
After owning and modding my Miata for 4 years, I thought it was finally time to upgrade. My 250whp Miata is great fun with the serious money I've put into it, but it isn't practical or luxurious. I picked up a 328is for a daily, but it just wasn't making the cut.
It's hard to tell, but I swapped the motor/trans/LSD in my Miata. Not to mention swapping in a Megasquirt 3x standalone ECU, Stance GR+ coils, Bride seats, etc... could go on for days. You guys don't care. I've had my eyes on the 1-series for years. Last Thursday I was finally able to pull the trigger on a 6-speed BSM 135i. It has everything I wanted.
Mods:
Picked it up with 81,000 miles. He said it has some sort of JB chip on it, wired into the MAP sensor? I'm unfamiliar with that. Always BMW maintained, water pump just done, HPFP already replaced, new plugs. I don't hear any wastegate rattle and everything else checks out. After driving it home for 400 miles, I love it! Perfect mix between the Miata and my E36. Although it isn't as fast as my Miata, the torque is nice. Soon I'll put an LSD in. I'm hoping I didn't overpay for the car, what do people on here think it's worth? I would find out which JB you have. If you have the JB4 /w G5 iso then you're golden. If not, the I would upgrade. Once you get the JB4 I would throw some e85 in there then set it on MAP 5. Also when you say custom exhaust, does it have DPs..if not you should get a set. You will be sitting around 400-420whp and 450-480wtq..which would probably be faster than the Miata.

You also have smoked side markers and black grilles. They weren't on your mods list. Not performance, but it sure makes the car look badass.
Enjoy your new ride! |
